“Look for the helpers,” said Mr. Rogers, the TV star, whose mother told him to do that when something scared him. I’ve known scary times, too—when I was kept in a backyard kennel without food or water—until a helper came for me. While with her, I was good with kids and other dogs, but not with cats; very energetic, loving, obedient, and a fast learner. And then I came here, still needing to gain weight (this is a five-star place for nutritious dog meals), and just naturally friendly and eager to please. Life isn’t scary anymore. For me, it’s full of promise for happy, fun times. I’m a 3-year-old Boxer mix male, who wants most of all to give you the love of a good dog. Will you help me do that?

I didn’t mean to hitchhike. To be honest with you I was quite nervous. That probably explains why, when the car stopped and the door opened, I immediately jumped in. Then I was taken to the home of my rescuer where I felt safe and secure. After spending the night I came to TALGV where I was made to feel at home. They were informed that I am a calm, friendly girl that loves to cuddle and it seems I also like kids. My basic “commands” education is not known, but I walk well on a leash. Now I have my own room but I would prefer my own home and someone to love. If you are interested in an affectionate gal that enjoys a cuddle—-I’m yours.

Have you ever known anyone who was hit by a car, then mustered all their strength and reclaimed their joy of life? Well, that’s me. After 3 surgeries to fix my jaw and lots of TLC from my TALGV foster mom, I’m a new man. I just need to avoid crunchy food. I’m a 7-month-old small terrier who loves to play! My foster Mom says I get along with all of her dogs and cats. I’d be happy with a playful doggy buddy. I have learned to eat and sleep in my kennel, use a doggy door, and am learning where to go potty. I’m an eager eater and I vacuum the floor after we all finish dining. Mom says I’m a spunky, funny puppy. I’m good at life, and I’ll be good for you!

When I was about a year old, I was having quite an adventure roaming the streets. Then someone found me and brought me to TALGV. I barely had time to settle in when two lovely ladies took me home. It was there I met the two resident cats and we all became one happy family. I learned the basic commands and how to walk well on a leash. My people said I am very affectionate and I am good at letting them know when I have to go out. I really enjoy playing in the yard, chasing my toys and being brushed, but I’m not a fan of sunglasses. I am also crate trained. Unfortunately, my family had to relocate and dogs were not permitted in their new home. Do you have a dog-friendly home?

In the Christmas movie, It’s a Wonderful Life, the little girl Susie tells us when a bell rings, an angel gets her wings. I didn’t hear any bells when I was born, but I have a pair of creamy angel wings imprinted on my tawny back! Another angel found me wandering in Madera Highlands and brought me here. I’m in fine shape, so I mustn’t have been lost very long. Volunteers say I’m friendly with children as well as adults and am good with other dogs. I look like a mix of Chihuahua and Dachshund and am about a year old. I enjoy my toys and taking walks. If you’d like a guardian angel in canine form, come adopt me and let’s have a wonderful life!
