Hi… my name is Lacey,

Adopted 8-7-18

My rescuer said when he found me, I’d apparently been out for a while and was tired. Oh, my yes! I’m a 5-1/2-year-old Chihuahua female, just 9 pounds, so being alone in the big wide world was scary every minute and there was no time to rest. Even after being rescued, I wasn’t sure how to tell friend from foe, so I made funny noises at everyone and cuddled down deeply in my new comfy bed. And I slept. What a relief! At first, I didn’t even want to go outside again, but gradually, fear is subsiding. I’ve received medical care, lots of gentle encouragement, and now I’m glad to be here—a safe place for dreaming of the best place ever: A loving home, where kindness abides. Will you make my dream come true?

Hi… my name is Palin,

Adopted 11-4-18

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

“You can’t buy love, but you can adopt it.” I’m living proof of that sign at the Animal League. I learned about love from my owner who adopted me as a puppy years ago, but now can’t take care of me anymore. Yes, it’s a surprising change for me—I loved being a great companion dog, but the volunteers assure me that I’m still that great dog. I ask to go outside, walk beautifully on a leash, and although a big guy—78 pounds—I’m an affectionate, sweet fellow who just wants you to be happy. A 9-1/2-year-old Shepherd mix, I’m a senior dog now and have Free Vet Care for Life. For me, the most exciting new thing in life will be you—the day you say we can go home together forever!

Hi… my name is Leon,

Adopted 4-25-18

I can safely say that whoever you are, you’re bigger than me. A 1-year-old Chihuahua male, I’m just 6.2 pounds, so you can imagine how scared I was to be lost—and how grateful I was to be rescued. Unfortunately, my finder’s other dogs didn’t like me, but that’s okay. I’m here now, where I’m discovering that new friends can be wonderful. Oh, I’m still timid; when someone makes me feel secure, I like to stay with them, but I’m also venturing out—stepping forward in my fenced-in patio in TALGV’s Den, hoping to meet a patient, understanding someone who’ll teach me things, introduce me to fun, and share a big love with sweet, tiny me. If you could be my someone, please let me suggest that we start our happy life together today!

Hi… my name is Nala,

Adopted 5-24-18

When I was lost, I had one big advantage: I wasn’t alone. There were three of us— a male dog, another female and I were found near the interstate. Being together here has been helpful, too, because although I’m calm and sweet natured, I was timid around people at first and did the get-acquainted dance—two steps forward and one step back. It sure was worth it! My new friends stroke my short tan coat, and they’re showing me that people can be as much fun as dogs! A nice size at 49 pounds, I’m a 1-year-old female who’s still learning, and you’ll hear my unusual bark when we meet, which I hope is real soon because I’ve learned that being with someone makes every journey better, especially the one that takes us home.

Hi… my name is Bailey,

Adopted 7-30-18

Comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

Even though I’m 9 years old, I’m sure some of my happiest trails are still ahead of me. Here’s one way I know: I recently had great fun with a family including five children (age 10 and older). We played fetch, the kids liked it when I’d sit, stay and come on their say-so, and I loved it when they kept saying, “Bailey is awesome!” At 75 pounds, I’ve been called a shepherd/Black Mouth Cur mix, but you can just call me a big loveable guy. I need a new home because my person became seriously ill and couldn’t keep me. I hope it helps that I come with Free Vet Care for Life, and I also come ready to relax, have fun, and be your faithful companion. Will you give me that chance?

Bella is well behaved, rarely barks, and gets along with other dogs and children. Cats are unknown.

There is no adoption fee for this special girl. If you would welcome Bella into a loving home, please call Dottie between 8 AM and 8 PM at 339-237-2790.

Hi… my name is Montes,

Adopted 5-14-18

Sometimes sad things happen to good dogs. Take me, for instance (and I really hope you do!). I was abandoned at a local store. Then, when I was first examined here, I cowered the way dogs do when someone has hurt them. But you know what? I can erase all that to make room for all my happy days ahead. I’m really sure those good times are coming because I’m such a good dog—already close to leash-trained (just remind me to heel), not much of a barker, a fast learner, and a sweet boy who will always appreciate your kindness and affection. I’m 1-1/2 years old, 55 pounds, and if you’ll be my hero—the one who gives me a chance at a loving, happy home—I’ll give you my whole heart forever.

Hi… my name is Bella Ann,

Adopted 4-11-18

“Sweetness on four legs,” my friends call me, enjoying my happy wiggle, doggie smile and gentle manner. They understand that for me, being brought to this safe place with its kind people feels like a sort of miracle. I’d known much harder times, having been abandoned as a very young dog, left chained in a yard. Fortunately, a neighbor took care of me for a while, noted I was good with kids, but then she moved and couldn’t take me. That’s when I came here, and I was grateful from the get-go! Medical attention came first, along with routine exercise, and now training class (I’m good on a leash). I’m a 1-year-old, tan and white, adorable female, and I’ll be sweet on you forever. Isn’t that the perfect reason to make me yours today!
