Hi… my name is Rusty,

Adopted 12-23-17

Rusty has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

“Sweet, wonderful dog.” Big life changes (job and school) resulted in my person returning me to TALGV, but not before she wrote that nice description about me, and much more: “He let my young son crawl all over him. I’ve never seen him be aggressive.” And this: “Always friendly. Loves to go on runs/walks.” She said I barked when new people came onto the property, which can be good—especially because she added that I was “never aggressive.” Plus, she said I was housebroken. (One accident during the scary part of monsoon season.) Full disclosure: I’m a 2-1/2-year-old Heeler/Hound mix male and big favorite here because I’m such a loveable guy, albeit somewhat shy at first. And for me, it’s most important what you think. How about we meet and see if we match?

Hi… my name is Roseanne,

Adopted 1-1-18

Child abuse doesn’t just happen to humans. I arrived at TALGV with a massive wound on my head and taken to the vet where they discovered that I’d also had a recently broken jaw. After months of treatment and recovery, I’m living with a foster mom (who thinks my injuries were inflicted with a shovel), and she says that despite everything, I’m a sweet, happy girl. I have sight and hearing loss on my left side and have some neurological damage (mom says that I’ll be “locked forever in a puppy world” as my learning curve is a bit slow), but I love people, get along fine with the resident dogs and cats, am housebroken, and am learning to walk on a leash, so everyone is hoping that I can find a super special person to give me lots of love and consistency in my life. If you consider me when you’re ready to “pay it forward,” you won’t be sorry!

P.S. Things you should know about me (from my foster mom): I’m hearing and sight-impaired on my left side. I have permanent neurological damage (sort of like a Down Syndrome child). My tail wags almost all the time. I didn’t used to know what toys were, but I’m learning. I’m learning to trust people, too. I go into my crate (my “safe place”) if I’m frightened. I’m housebroken (I go to the door). I like dogs and cats (especially dogs!). I’m a sweet, happy girl who gets along with all people and kids. I am getting better and better with leash training every day. I need patience and consistency and a “pattern” to my life.

And most of all: I need time and understanding and guidance and love.

Hi… my name is Stella,

Adopted 10-24-17

Friendly and sweet, active and adventurous—I hope you like that combination because those words describe me! After my buddy Lobo (a Husky/Shepherd mix) and I escaped from their place, our people decided to bring us here so we could find a home where we’d be more likely to happily stay put. My former people said I was gentle and tolerant with children (ages 9 to 16)—indeed, they said I “love children”—and got along with other animals. I’m friendly here, too, playful, and enjoying the attention. They call me a Rottie mix female, but I have a slender build and weigh just 53 pounds at 10 months. These days, true to my sweet nature, I’m eager to be someone’s loyal and loving companion forever. Could you and I be the perfect combination?

Hi… my name is Buddy,

Adopted 7-14-19

Buddy comes with Vet Care Support for Life

After my dear owner died, her daughter said this about me: “Buddy needs to know someone loves him. I don’t think he had a very good life before my mother adopted him.” But once I was with her, my life was blessed with care and understanding. I had two doggie housemates and our person loved us all! Now, alone again, I have some concerns. I’m head shy and sensitive to touch of my hind end, maybe from past injuries; please understand it’s not personal. We don’t know if I’d get along with other dogs now, and we don’t think I should be in a family with children. Most of all, I need kindness, patience, and the freedom to be me—an 11-year-old male, 59 pounds, who has learned what love is. May I share it with you?

Hi… my name is Indy,

Adopted 1-5-18

Up until now, the path to my forever home has taken some detours. I was rescued from my first home, but my second home already had three dogs and the four of us didn’t get along. There were happy times—my rescuer said I was good with her daughter, enjoyed playing ball, and behaved in the house when alone—so I’m bound to be a great fit in the right place. I can be reserved with strangers (maybe more likely with men), but once acquainted, I’ll open up to show the real me—lively, playful, and smart. (In training, I did a great job on my very first day!) I’m a 2-year-old Shiba Inu mix male, 37 pounds, whose greatest wish is to earn my forever home by being the faithful companion you love.

Adopted 10-13-17

LADY is a beautiful 22-pound, 8-year-old black and tan Cocker Spaniel who needs a new family as she is not happy in her changed home environment. She was rescued 5 years ago from a home where three young children mistreated her, so now that her new family has babies, she is quite unhappy. She is housebroken, asks to go out, and uses a doggy door. Lady is crate trained, walks nicely on leash, and knows many commands. She loves being with her people and is okay with a calm dog or kids over 8; cats are not recommended. She is spayed, is up to date with shots, and medical records are available. There is no adoption fee for this special girl.

If you will welcome Lady into your home as part of your family, please call Briana between 10 AM and 5 PM at 520-245-5434.

Hi… my name is Rosie (aka S’more),

Adopted 11-24-17

“Smart, loving, housebroken.” I recently spent a couple of days with people who observed those three wonderful qualities in me. They praised me for other things, too: “Walks on leash, nice to people and other dogs, rides in car well, sleeps in crate.” All this and energy, too. Indeed, as a 6-month-old terrier mix, you could say I’m full of energy! At just 23 pounds, I can jump a 5-foot fence, so I’m definitely not a dog to be left alone in the yard. Besides, I love company and can be good company, too. People say I’m adorable from the tip of my curly tail to my beautiful dark eyes, and I say I’m just a girl who wants to have fun. Will you give me the chance for an active, happy life with you?
