Hi… my name is Chance,

Adopted 12-3-17

Chance has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Lots of people tell me they like my name because it reminds them of lucky chances and second chances, and I always enjoy the conversation. It’s good to have friends, especially when you need a lucky second chance like I do now. After living happily with my family for years, I had to go when we found out the new baby was allergic to me. Of course, they gladly shared my strong points: Good with their former dog, I’m also housebroken, playful, energetic, and leash-trained, and TALGV volunteers concur. They especially appreciate my friendly nature and how great I am on leash. I’m an 8-year-old male, 62 pounds, and if you like the Boxer look, you’ll probably agree I’m handsome. As for names, that’s up to you. I just want to be called yours.

Hi… my name is Juliet,

Adopted 7-16-17

I was found wandering alone in a delicate condition—pregnant with four puppies! Thank goodness, a kind stranger rescued me and my babies were all delivered safely. The weeks have flown by and now they’re ready for adoption—and I am, too! When asked to describe me, my people friends almost always say the same two things first: She’s adorable, and she’s been a very good mother. People think being a good mom is a sign of good character; I say it’s just natural. I take care of my babies as long as they need me. And, given the chance, I’ll take care of my person with love, good doggie behavior, and all the affection they want. I’m a sweet 1-year-old female, small (still losing my mommy weight) and hoping you could love me forever.

Hi… my name is Caramel,

Adopted 8-23-17

I’m a beautiful, sweet, lovable young dog, but I was also a stray. When rescued, I had a scratch on my face. I’m fine now, wounds like that heal, but that scratch was a tiny reminder of what happens to dogs who are lost. Now that I’m a TALGV dog, I’m safe and well fed, but I’m still missing the best part of life: someone to love. When I go to sleep at night, I’m no longer afraid or hungry, but I dream of home — a place of warmth, love and happiness. I’m about 36 pounds, tan and white, a Hound/Shepherd mix female. The best part of me is beyond description—my loving heart, which will be yours forever when you take me to that wonderful place you call home.

Hi… my name is Vannie,

Adopted 7-8-17

Comes with Free Vet Care for Life

Moving day was also good-bye day for me and the people I’d lived with for many years. There just wasn’t room for all of us at their new place, which was sad, but I prefer to think of it this way: When it comes to being a great companion, I’ve earned lots of “know-how.” I’ve lived peacefully with other dogs and cats, I’m leash trained, and happily welcome affection—I love to be petted. You could say the past years have been a trial run for the forever home of my dreams, where I’ll play fetch, adore my person and cuddle with them every day. I’m a mainly tan, 22-pound Chihuahua mix male, 10-1/2 years old, which means I have FREE Vet Care for life. May I spend my happily ever after with you?

Hi… my name is Lexi,

Adopted with Chico 8-15-17

Comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

My buddy Chico and I have been together since we were puppies. He’s a Lab mix male, and I’m a German Shepherd mix female, mainly black, 11 years old and 54 pounds. Our former people no longer have room for us, so we’re extra glad to have each other. I’m somewhat shy but becoming comfortable with the volunteers, and although our former family thought we might have trouble with small children, the young teenagers who help here at TALGV have become our great friends and walk partners. And we love all the comforts of living indoors for a change! Chico and I want to stay together, so please know we each have FREE Vet Care for Life, and offer two hearts full of gratitude and love if you’ll let us be family with you.

Arrived 6-20-17

Note: Lexie is available for adoption with her long-time companion, Chico.
