Animal League News

Hi… my name is Mystik,

Adopted 8-9-24

It was a long ride from Rio Rico for my feline friend, River, and me. How grateful we were to arrive at The Animal League! Our human mom was sad to relinquish us, but she had to move in with family and there was no room for us. She said I was a prima donna who loved to be pampered and   brushed. I loved to play with little stuffed mice. My favorite napping spot: at the top of my cat tower. I need a quiet home: no little children, dogs, kittens or male cats please. I may prefer being your one and only pet since I dominate for attention. How ‘bout being my best human companion?

Hi… my name is Baxy,

RAINBOW BRIDGE 11-22-24

I’m not like the other fosters.  Due to my diagnosis, I’m a fospice dog—a foster dog who is in hospice.  But whatever the term, what I know is that I am now a family dog.

We all know that a family can be one person or a houseful.  In my case, my foster family includes another dog and my foster mom and dad (two TALGV volunteers), and now me!  My family opened their hearts and home to me, not as a guest but as one of them.

Whatever lies ahead for me, there is one thing I know for sure:  I will not face it alone.  Thanks to my foster family I can rest assured that my golden days—these precious days—will be full of love, comfort and family.

Hi… my name is Downy,

Adopted with Merlot 8-23-24

I’m a doll! I have a huge purr motor, I love attention, and I can be quite vocal at times.  I love to “knead bread” on my fluffy blanket. Being a “tripod” doesn’t hold me down. (Yes, I had an accident and had to have my right hind leg amputated.) I run, jump, and play. I can easily get up on things. I’m a little standoffish when meeting other kittens or dogs at first but that soon changes.  My fosters claim that I’m resilient and determined, I’m adaptive (my missing leg doesn’t impede me from getting around on my own), and I’m very in tune with my surroundings and what’s going on in them. Please meet me!

Hi… my name is Daisy,

Hi everyone! My new life began the moment I was rescued from the hot desert by Good Samaritans who brought me to TALGV. My past life as a neglected breeding machine retreated in their car’s rear-view mirror as we made our way to the next chapter of my journey. I spent several days relaxing out of the heat with a soft bed to sleep on and good food to eat. I was even treated to massages which I highly recommend – 5 stars!  My friends first thought I would be a couch-potato but have learned I want to experience other things I never got to enjoy – like walks with my two-legged friends, now that I’m feeling better. Okay, maybe I need to learn leash etiquette, but I’m getting there! Want to be part of my journey?

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Bruiser,

My rescuer named me Bruiser because when she found me one of my eyes was beat up. Found wandering in Rio Rico, I was dirty and hungry. Since she couldn’t keep me, she brought me to The Animal League where I am safe, clean and well-fed. Also, I have volunteers who play with me! My favorite toys are wands with balls at the end. When I get over-excited, I tend to nip but I’m learning that is a “no-no”, so I turn my attention to my stuffed mice. I’m an active boy who is ready for life in the fast lane. Sound appealing to you?  If so, please come meet me!

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may  call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.
