Hi… my name is Finley.

Adopted September 24, 2015

Finley has earned/received his American Kennel Club (AKC)  Canine Good Citizen (CGC) certification.

“Too many pets, too little time.” That’s what my people said when they finally had to relinquish me after a year. Although they said I was a wonderful guy who is very affectionate and loves attention, with four kids ranging from 14 down to 1 year, and two other dogs, there just wasn’t enough time in the day for a big (60 pound) fellow like me. And at only a year old, I still need a bit more coaching in the obedience department to keep my mind sharp, so its time for me to move on to a more “me-centered” place! I’m striking 1-year-old Aussie/Great Dane mix with unique harlequin and merle coloring, and since I’m kinda nervous during thunderstorms, I’d sure love to have a family (without cats!) to comfort me right now!

Hi… my name is Nevada.

Adopted February 14, 2016

When I first arrived at TALGV I was just a few weeks old, and was named “Glitter,” and although my dad changed my name, that moniker still applies as I have one glittering personality! Unfortunately, his job has now necessitated a whole ton of travel for him, and that left me with sitters an awful lot, so he felt that I deserved to have a person around to spend my time charming. I also had an 11-year-old child that was “mine,” but she had a few allergies, so those two things conspired to end my sojourn with them. I’m a lovely 18-month Torbie girl (that’s a torti and tabby mix), who loves to play and schmooze, so why not let me be your entertainment for the summer?

Hi… my name is Trixie,

Adopted December 31, 2015

My foster mom and dad report that I’m a typical puppy with lessons to learn; the puppy version of “some assembly required.” I’m also a lucky pup because some great people are helping me learn to be the best dog I can be. Already, I will sit and stay at the door, and I’m learning other important things like how to have fun with other dogs, be quiet in my crate, and good house manners, too. (Turns out the people make the rules – good to know!) I’m a 6-month-old female pup; a 25-pound Dalmation/Staffie mix, white with big and small black spots. I’m an energetic pup who also loves to cuddle—a cuddle bug, they call me—and in my puppy dreams, I imagine my forever home. Could it be with you?

PS Hope you enjoy seeing my baby photo at the bottom of the page.

Hi… my name is Bandit.

Adopted July 18, 2015

Sometimes sad things happen and change your life. That happened to me recently when there was a death in my family and they couldn’t keep me anymore. But I have also learned that things do get better and so I’m putting my best paw forward for a happy future. I’m a 1-1/2-year-old male, about 40 pounds, with a distinctive Husky/Terrier appearance. (You may think I most closely resemble a small Husky.)   My family described me as “well behaved.” I’m learning how to walk well on a leash, and already know “sit,” “stay,” and “come.” My coat is brown, black and white, and if you look into my eyes you’ll see a young guy who has known some tough times but believes in happy days ahead. Could those days be with you?

Hi… my name is Denver.

Adopted August 26, 2015

My dad found me six months ago, and kindhearted soul that he was gave me a home. Life was great for a while, but when his father died, he “inherited” the dog, and things sort of went downhill from there! The dog may have wanted to play, but it sure didn’t look that way to me, so to be on the safe side, dad felt it best for me to move on to share my love in a safer home. I got along great with all the kids in the home and am said to be a boy who loves laps and feather toys. I also have an intriguing “cauliflower ear” that I’ll bet will set me apart from all the other felines you’ve had, so why not add some distinction to your home?

Hi… my name is Star,

Adopted August 4, 2016

Star has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

My brother and I were puppies found in the desert. We stayed with our rescuers for several months, living outside until we moved here, where the volunteers have taught me so much! Now I know commands like “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and even earned my AKC Canine Good Citizen Certificate! I’m a young Boxer/Lab/Staffie mix male, 52 pounds, and my friends call me handsome—in part because of my sleek black coat with the white star on my neck—and a fun companion for walks, playing ball, and belly rubs. (I’ll try to make those belly rubs fun for you, too, okay?) I’m super grateful to those who helped me become the terrific dog I am today, and all I ask from you is a chance to show you how great we could be together.

Hi… my name is Isabella.

Adopted December 26, 2015

OK, I know that there are dogs who are perfectly content being “outdoor only” critters, but even after living with my family for 5½ years (all my life), I still wanted to be inside with them! My people (a senior couple) said that I’d recently started getting into mischief out there, so since they had four other outside dogs and couldn’t bring just me in, they felt I needed a place and home to call my own. They said I’m a gentle lady who is very submissive, so I’ll bet with just a bit of explanation on the finer points of indoor living, I’ll be a great companion. I’m a Boxer (my dad) and Australian Cattle Dog (my mom) mix, and I’d love the opportunity to show you just how endearing I can be!
