Hi… my name is Commander Tom,

Adopted 7-14-25

I just love my name! I’m a high energy cat! I’m known as a Turkish Angora; we are known for our elegant appearance, silky long coats, and playful, intelligent personalities. That’s me to a T! (That’s for Tom!) I REALLY like the chin scratches and cuddling the volunteers are giving me! I’m anxious to build a strong bond with my new family. If you have a household that’s full of activities, I’d fit right in!  I’m young so I’ve got plenty of play and pizzazz to entertain you for years to come. I might even learn to do some tricks if you’ll teach me. I love playful antics. I can’t wait to meet you!

Box

Hi… my name is Box,

Adopted 6-23-25

Such a petite girl I am with such an unfeminine name! I’m looking to change it. When you meet me, we can discuss that. You may look for me on my high perch, curled up napping. (My way of coping with the changes in my young life.) Since my family couldn’t keep me any longer, they brought me to the shelter. That was the right thing to do, but I miss them and my home. I’m picturing my new human(s) cuddling and caring for me, being the delight of the household. Is that your home? Remember: according to George Eliot, “Animals are such agreeable friends.”  I surely would like to be your bestie!

Hi… my name is Penny,

Adopted 5-18-25

I’m a stunning girl who arrived at TALGV after being found abandoned, alone and scared, in a nearby pecan field. I’ve since been fully vetted, spayed, and ready to start my quest to find a loving family. A few things about me: I like to take my time getting to know someone, so if you’re patient and respectful, I’ll show you the playful, fun side of me. I LOVE going for car rides and walks to explore all the sights, sounds, and scents. I also wait to ‘go’ until we are on a walk, so I’m likely housetrained. I’m unsure of other dogs; are they friendly or not? While my TALGV friends help me figure this out, please come by and ask to meet me. Maybe I’m the Penny that brings us BOTH good luck!

Hi… my name is Aries,

ARIES IS CONSIDERED A LARGE DOG AND COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE.

I’m baffled and bewildered! I got returned like an Amazon package, although I’m the TOTAL package: I come with Vet Care Support for Life, I’m house-trained, leash-savvy, know my manners (“sit,” “lay,” “heel”), and I’m happy to alert you when nature calls. I don’t do chicken or grain, but I’m not picky—just a little allergy-prone. Now here are my non-negotiable “pawlicies”:  1. I’m strong on a leash if we encounter other animals. My adopter needs to know how to redirect me.  2.  There can be no other animals in the home.  Nope.  Nothing furry, feathered or otherwise. Just humans. I love people. I’ll be your shadow, your fan club, your couch buddy for life. All I ask is to be your one and only. I’ll give you 100% of my heart—no sharing required. Sound good?

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Vanilla Wafer (aka Nilla),

AS A RESIDENT AT TALGV FOR MORE THAN 2 YEARS, NILLA COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE.

I’m learning the world isn’t so scary. Walks are my favorite—especially those with a bunny scent! I’m getting braver every day: strangers don’t scare me like they used to, especially if they have a calm, friendly dog. I’ll need a few meetups at my favorite park to get comfortable, so please let me go at my own pace. I’m house-trained, use a doggie door, and know a few commands. Once I trust you, my silly side shines—perhaps relocating shoes or the remote. I love toys, car rides, and splashing in a kiddie pool. My foster buddy helps boost my confidence, and I’m discovering how fun being a dog can be. No little kids for me, but a patient heart? Yes, please! The best things in life—like me with Vet Care Support for Life—are worth working for.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Oreo,

Adopted 3-7-25

COMES WITH VETC CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

Did you know “America’s Favorite Cookie” now has Vet Care Support for Life? Yes! Even perfection can be improved upon. Have I come a LONG way! I’m now in a foster home with two other dogs who have guided me on how to make the most of this experience. Being the Smart Cookie that I am, I’ve quickly learned the household routines: play time, feeding times, outdoor/potty times, walk time, bed times. I would definitely benefit from having a friendly canine companion in the home.  A kiddie pool would be a big plus in the summer.  While I’m shy when meeting someone new, you’ll earn my trust if I’m given enough time, patience and treats. I may be America’s Favorite Cookie, but do you think I can be YOURS?
If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Shiloh,

Transformation! I’m now living up to my name which means “tranquil.” Since coming to The Animal League, I now feel safe. The volunteers have patiently coaxed me out of my hiding place. I was found out on my own when my rescuer discovered me. Being a stray, it took me awhile to regain my composure. I now like to sit atop a cat tree observing my world. I also really like to play with those wand toys! I’m still hesitant about being petted and brushed, but that will most likely come in time. If you have a patient rescuer’s heart, please come spend time with me. I’m a beauty!

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Curry,

Adopted with Cumin

My brother Cumin and I look like matching book ends. Here is part of our story. After being cared for in a home for several years, why would my human choose to abandon my brother Cumin and me at a car wash? We are sweet, loving felines who are FRONT DECLAWED. We are a bonded pair of siblings. Thankfully, our rescuer brought us to The Animal League where we are ready to meet our new human(s). My lovely, soft creamsicle fur coat just begs to be brushed. Although I’m shy, provide me with treats and I’ll let you pet me. How about it? Noah had it right: two felines are better than one!
