Hi… my name is Boots.

I was adopted July 15, 2014.
Having lived with lots of cats and dogs, you can be sure I’m a pretty well adjusted guy (I’m actually more partial to cat-savvy dogs!). My mom, whose health issues precluded her keeping me, said that I was a “big love” who loves to hunt toys, to sit in your lap and sleep with you, am very smart and know my name (for some reason people think that’s unusual for cats, but it’s really not — we’re no dummies!). I’m a handsome and sleek Tuxedo guy with a delightful white “goatee” and whiskers, so I’m betting if you give me a chance, I’ll win your heart as easily as I won my mom’s! Don’t you think it’s time that you had a furry friend sitting in YOUR lap?

Hi… my name is Emma.

Adopted February 4, 2015.
For a young gal, I’ve got quite a few commands under my collar! I know “sit, outside, come, crate, and no” (the last two are particularly handy when training a puppy apparently!). My family only had me for a month, so given that I’m fairly proficient in those things already, you can bet that it’s going to be a walk in the park for someone who has time for my education to round out my training. I loved the kids I lived with (all three were very young and I was gentle as could be with them), but I sort of overwhelmed the resident dog with my exuberance, so my family decided I needed a place where my sweet, playful self could be the center of attention and get ALL the love!

Hi… my name is Maisy.

Adopted February 25, 2015

I come with super references from my young family, but they were about to add another little human to the mix and had another BIG dog, so I was a bit more than they could manage. My mom said that I’m a sweet girl who loved to sleep with the kids, was good with other dogs, know sit, get down (off the bed — but I’d stay if you’d let me!), loved to ride in the car, and am perfectly housebroken. I’m a Staffie mix lady who is loving and eager to please, so if you’re looking for a really “special something” in your life, I just know I’ll warm the cockles of your heart! Oh, and the volunteers say that for anyone who always wanted a stocky pot-bellied pig, I snuffle and snort just like one without all the fuss!

Arrived May 20, 2014.

Hi… my name is Jinx.

I was adopted July 10, 2014.

There’s some confusion as to whether I’m a Ragdoll or a Snowshoe Siamese, but if you’re familiar with either breed, you’ll know that we’re totally awesome, sweet felines, so you get the best of both worlds with me! My family consisted of mom, dad, two dogs and two kids (ages 8 and 10), and everyone agreed that I’m a real sweetheart and a lover (and also chatty if you’re feeling lonely!). My problem is that I occasionally didn’t use my litter box, but I’m pretty sure that my fastidious feline ways would come to the fore in no time in a new environment (and maybe with a watchful eye for a bit?). I’m only 4 years old, so I’ve got lots of time ahead of me to become “Patti Perfect,” and I’m hopeful that you’ll give me that chance!

Hi… my name is Baby Boo.

Adopted 12-5-16

Baby Boo comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

When you’ve lived all your life with one (very quiet) person and no other pets, you tend to be a rather laid back, shy lady. After my mom died, her sister would have taken me, but her husband had allergies, so that didn’t work out. Everyone says I am a real sweetie with a tiny voice who is always glad to see people. I enjoy playing with feathery things and small stuffed toys (I sometimes carry them around and drop them in my water bowl!), just like when I was a kitten. My “auntie” said, “She’s kind, affectionate, and loves to be petted and talked to,” so if you have a quiet life, please make me part of it! Oh, and I come with Free Vet Care for life to boot!

Arrived May 15, 2014

Hi… my name is Abbie.

Adopted September 21, 2014.

If you’ve ever navigated the intersection of Abrego Drive and Continental Road on foot, you’ll appreciate how terrified I was to be roaming there for two weeks! The neighbors finally convinced me that there was a lot better place for me to be, and here I am! I’m still pretty nervous about things (the leash most of all, but I’m learning) but other than that, I’m a quiet, calm girl and welcome human contact with its attendant pets and belly rubs. I’m a 7-month-old shepherd/heeler mix and weigh 22 pounds, so I’m going to be one of those “just the perfect size” dogs when I’m grown. Being here in the safety of my room, I’m sure it won’t be long before my days on the streets will be just a distant memory.

Hi… my name is Bruno.

I was adopted on August 9, 2014.

It’s hard to tell my story when all anyone knows is that I was found on Nogales Highway and had to be coaxed into a crate (I was mighty frightened, I can tell you!). But since the volunteers have been working with me and gotten to know me better, they agree that I’m a young, happy-go-lucky guy who seeks out other dogs for friends, and on walks I get along with other dogs bopping along beside me (sometimes dogs like to walk with just their person, you know!). They say I’m always smiling, would make a wonderful companion, and would probably be great with kids as well. I’m a young, medium to high energy, Staffie mix boy who wants to forget his past and get on with this business of life!

Hi… my name is Lizzie.

I was adopted July 26, 2014.

My people said, “Lizzie is a wonderful cat. She likes to sit in windows and ‘cackle’ at birds and other wildlife. She enjoys playing with things she can bat around and dangly strings and ribbons. She enjoys a good petting and likes to be brushed. We think she would be best suited as the only cat in her new forever home with adults.” Unfortunately, they’re moving to a place where the landlord won’t allow pets, so we won’t be able to enjoy our lives together any longer. I’m a sweet, gentle, declawed black and white lady (my fur has been described as “cow patched!”), who will make an ideal quiet companion for anyone looking for love in a warm and furry bundle. I’m hopeful that’s you and you’re right around the corner!

Hi… my name is Baby.

Adopted January 31, 2015.

Sometimes “blended” families work out well and sometimes they don’t. Unfortunately, in my case, it was the latter, but only because the landlord wasn’t happy when I arrived to live with my dad’s new family. I lived with him (and his two small children) for two of my seven years, and he said that I was a real “people person,” so I guess that means really I love humans! He said that I know quite a few commands, am perfectly house and leash trained, and was very gentle with the kids (although I don’t do well with cats). So here I am, a lovely, mostly white, American bulldog lady whose only desire in life is to have another family that I can shower my special brand of canine love on.

Arrived April 11, 2014.

Hi… my name is Madrid.

Adopted October 15, 2014.

When my siblings, London, Paris, and I arrived at TALGV we were only a few days old. Our mother was killed by dogs in Nogales while trying to lure them away from us, so we were truly lucky when the owner of the house saved us and brought us here. Then we were doubly lucky because there were two foster dads who could take turns feeding us every two hours (‘round the clock!) for weeks until we were old enough to make it on our own. So after all that human attention, you have to know what sweet, thankful, people-loving kids we are now! I’ve grown into a delightful, friendly, and very active boy, and all I want in life is another human or two to spend my life with!
