Hi… my name is Tuxedo,

Adopted 2-16-25

When people meet me, they can’t help but notice my striking black coat with the perfect amount of white, but it’s the “ridge” of hair down my back that really makes me stand out. I’m a pup who was found in a parking lot. I got along well with the dogs of the people who found me, but I want my own home, so I came to TALGV in search of a family. I am already a favorite as I am cuddly, patient, and relaxed (for a puppy). I am learning to walk on a leash, and I plan to have it down in no time so that I can enjoy my new home and any new playmates. I will probably be a medium-to-large boy. I’m waiting, all dressed up and ready, for you.

SNOWY is a cute 11-year-old, 4-pound Chihuahua male who was rescued abouttwo months ago in an emergency situation. Snowy is crate trained, a very good leash walker, housebroken, asks to go out, can use doggy door, and knowscommands “here,” “outside,” and “go for walk.” He is neutered, up to date on shots, in good health and medical records are available. Snowy is good with adults and other small dogs; not good with large dogs and small children; cats are unknown. He likes to walk but requires minimal exercise and prefers to be a lap dog. Snowy comes with his crate (where he likes to sleep at night) and blanket. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people but will be happy to have a new best friend. There is no adoption fee. If you will welcome Snowy into a loving home as part of your family, please call Susie any time after noon at 478-972-1967.

Hi… my name is Queenie,

What can I say? I have the salty taste of losing my home—twice! In my first home with my sister, we had it made with a man who said I was warm and friendly once I got to know you. Sadly, his fiancée was allergic to cats, so he brought us siblings to The Animal League. After my sister was adopted, I didn’t do too well adapting to other felines. My second home was short-lived due to my anxieties. Back here, I’m watching other cats play but keeping to myself. Perhaps my next home should let me be the royalty I was previously. No drama, just quiet care and safety.

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

Not long ago, I lived in a home with other Chihuahuas, a cat, and our human mom and dad.  But then everything changed. Mom died, and soon Dad was gone, too. The cat, other dogs and I came here, where we were all afraid.  TALGV volunteers felt I was the most confident of the Chihuahuas, the one who’d step forward first, so I guess my sense of responsibility was showing. Even better, my new friends were soon complimenting me for being “very sweet,” too. I’m a 13-year-old female who can be active sometimes, and also quite content with quiet, relaxing times. Plus, I come with Vet Care Support for Life! And now I’m hoping for one more change—the move to a loving forever home with someone wonderful. Could you be my someone?

Hi… my name is Lucy,

Adopted with Kai 2-24-25

My brother Kai and I lived in a family with dogs, which we liked. There were kids too, and although we were good with them, sometimes they weren’t good about closing the outside doors—and we are “door dashers.” For our safety were brought here to look for a better home. My family says I am somewhat timid, and very vocal. I especially like scratching on my head and neck. Kai and I are a package deal, so I’m hoping there is a home out there just waiting for two active young cats. Come meet us and let us charm you!

Hi… my name is Siren,

Adopted 2-22-25

Left behind—that’s me. When a new owner came to their home, they found me! Needless to say, I wasn’t part of the contract. So here I am, looking for a home. I’m very shy and have been hiding under a blanket. I’m just not used to this, I guess.  The volunteers are growing on me, though, and I enjoy being petted and brushed. I’m mostly a black tabby but I have some white on my face and paws.  I could use a patient person who will help me transition to a permanent home. Can you come meet me and get to know me?

Hi… my name is Charlie,

Adopted 2-22-25

You could say I’m at that mellow time of life—going with the flow and easy going. My dad is moving out of the country so I can’t go, and I’m hoping to score a new home. Dad says I’m shy with other cats, which accounts for me kind of hiding out here at The Animal League. However, I’ve been around dogs, and people are A-OK. You can brush and pet me, and I’ll sleep anywhere. My grey and white fur is very soft. I’m not too mellow to play with strings and other toys. Why not come meet me and see if I could fit into your home?

Bud

Hi… my name is Bud,

Adopted 3-12-25

When we arrived at TALGV, my sisters and I huddled together in a corner of our run, with me in front.  I’m Bud, and although I was called “the brave boy,” all of us were scared. Our person had died, then our mom was adopted, and no one wanted us. But we quickly realized that TALGV was full of our new best friends! On top of the essentials—food, water, shelter—TALGV volunteers gave us lots of caring attention. And now they’re teaching us important good-dog lessons. I’ve also made friends with a bigger, more grown-up dog, and the two of us can play for hours! One day he explained that adoption is when someone chooses you to love. Sounds like the best thing ever to me. Could you and I choose each other?

Hi… my name is Diesel,

Adopted 2-17-25

I’m a 2-year-old mixed breed, only 37 pounds, but my heart’s as big as they come. I’m shy when we first meet, like a diesel engine that takes a minute to warm up. But once I do, I’m ready to go, full of love, loyalty, and wagging tail. Oh! I’m a smart guy, too! I love puzzles and figuring things out – you could say I’m a bit of a problem solver. I walk really well on a leash, so we can explore the world together, and I promise, once we’re bonded, I’ll be right there with you, enjoying every adventure (and every snuggle). If you’re patient, I’ll warm your heart just as much as you’ll warm mine. Come meet me, so I can prove it!
