Hi… my name is Commander Tom,

I just love my name! in my previous residence I was known as a Turkish Angora who are known for their elegant appearance, silky long coats, and playful, intelligent personalities. That’s me to a T! (That’s for Tom!) I appreciate the soft bed I’m sleeping in. I REALLY like the chin scratches and cuddling the volunteers are giving me! I’m anxious to build a strong bond with my new family. Could that be you? I’m young so I’ve got plenty of play and pizzazz to entertain you for years to come. I might even learn to do some tricks if you’ll teach me. I love playful antics. I can’t wait to meet you!

Box

Hi… my name is Box,

Such a petite girl I am with such an unfeminine name! I’m looking to change it. When you meet me, we can discuss that. You may look for me on my high perch, curled up napping. (My way of coping with the changes in my young life.) Since my family couldn’t keep me any longer, they brought me to the shelter. That was the right thing to do, but I miss them and my home. I’m picturing my new human(s) cuddling and caring for me, being the delight of the household. Is that your home? Remember: according to George Eliot, “Animals are such agreeable friends.”  I surely would like to be your bestie!

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Penny,

I’m a stunning girl who arrived at TALGV after being found abandoned, alone and scared, in a nearby pecan field. I’ve since been fully vetted, spayed, and ready to start my quest to find a loving family. A few things about me: I like to take my time getting to know someone, so if you’re patient and respectful, I’ll show you the playful, fun side of me. I LOVE going for car rides and walks to explore all the sights, sounds, and scents. I also wait to ‘go’ until we are on a walk, so I’m likely housetrained. I’m unsure of other dogs; are they friendly or not? While my TALGV friends help me figure this out, please come by and ask to meet me. Maybe I’m the Penny that brings us BOTH good luck!

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Aries,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

As a mature Heeler mix female, I’ve had time to learn a thing or two. For instance, I’m good in the house, leash-trained, can use a doggie door or ask to go out.  I know some important commands, including “sit,” “lay,” “heel,” and a couple more. Although not a fussy eater, I am allergic to anything containing chicken or grain.  Fortunately, there are several good dog food brands out there that fit the bill for me. As far as friends go, you could call me “a people dog” because I LOVE people, both men and women.  But please understand that I do not like other animals, so I must be your one and ONLY. If you’d be content sharing your home with just one pet—one dog who adores you—please let it be me. (Bio dated 6-2022)

Hi… my name is Vanilla Wafer (aka Nilla),

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

What’s better than adopting a dog? Adopting one with Vet Care Support for Life! I’m in a foster home enjoying soft beds, a secure yard to play in, and the joys of experiencing what having a family of my own would be like. I’ve even learned how to play with toys! Another TALGV dog is in foster with me. We have lots of fun and he helps me with my confidence. About me: I’m shy and need time and patience to warm up to new people. I’m housetrained, of course. I like to play in a kiddie pool and cannot wait for summer to practice my mermaid skills. I’ve learned new things don’t have to be scary, and, learning how to be a dog can be fun! Anything worth having is worth working for: ME!
If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Oreo,

COMES WITH VETC CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

Did you know “America’s Favorite Cookie” now has Vet Care Support for Life? Yes! Even perfection can be improved upon. Have I come a LONG way! I’m now in a foster home with two other dogs who have guided me on how to make the most of this experience. Being the Smart Cookie that I am, I’ve quickly learned the household routines: play time, feeding times, outdoor/potty times, walk time, bed times. I would definitely benefit from having a friendly canine companion in the home.  A kiddie pool would be a big plus in the summer.  While I’m shy when meeting someone new, you’ll earn my trust if I’m given enough time, patience and treats. I may be America’s Favorite Cookie, but do you think I can be YOURS?
If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Shiloh,

I was found out on my own, and my rescuer scooped me up and brought me to The Animal League. So here I am trying to live up to my name Shiloh which means “tranquil.” Currently, I’m far from that. I’m hiding in a corner peering out at volunteers who come to talk softly to me in hopes that I’ll warm up to them. Being a stray, it’s taking me awhile to regain my composure, but there’s hope. My love is hiding inside waiting for you, my patient human, to lovingly care for me in safety.  If you have a rescuer’s heart, please come spend time with me. I’m a beauty!

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Curry,

Adopted with Cumin

My brother Cumin and I look like matching book ends. Here is part of our story. After being cared for in a home for several years, why would my human choose to abandon my brother Cumin and me at a car wash? We are sweet, loving felines who are FRONT DECLAWED. We are a bonded pair of siblings. Thankfully, our rescuer brought us to The Animal League where we are ready to meet our new human(s). My lovely, soft creamsicle fur coat just begs to be brushed. Although I’m shy, provide me with treats and I’ll let you pet me. How about it? Noah had it right: two felines are better than one!

Hi… my name is Domino,

What do people love about Dominoes? They’re easy to play with, fun, and really distinct, which perfectly describes me. I am a sweet girl who is easy-going and full of love. My spotted coat and blue eyes make me stand out in a crowd. I seem to be able to get along with other dogs since I had a buddy when I arrived at TALGV, but I’m ready to join a new home with a warm bed and daily food delivery. I am energetic but know how to sit and wait (especially if you offer a treat). I walk well on a leash and love to sniff the world outside. I would love to join your family game night, and you don’t have to worry about cheating because I don’t have any pockets. See you soon!
