Hi… my name is Downy,

Adopted with Merlot 8-23-24

I’m a doll! I have a huge purr motor, I love attention, and I can be quite vocal at times.  I love to “knead bread” on my fluffy blanket. Being a “tripod” doesn’t hold me down. (Yes, I had an accident and had to have my right hind leg amputated.) I run, jump, and play. I can easily get up on things. I’m a little standoffish when meeting other kittens or dogs at first but that soon changes.  My fosters claim that I’m resilient and determined, I’m adaptive (my missing leg doesn’t impede me from getting around on my own), and I’m very in tune with my surroundings and what’s going on in them. Please meet me!

Hi… my name is Daisy,

If life were a movie, I’d be the lovable sidekick who auditions for the lead but doesn’t get the part. So many adopters pass by my kennel…. and then pick another dog. I’m a calm, soulful girl who adores humans. I once had a doggie roommate, but I prefer people—I connect better with them. I walk nicely on a leash, though sometimes I’d rather pause, smell the roses, and watch the world go by. I’m hoping someone will finally see me. I was found abandoned in the desert and brought to TALGV where I’ve blossomed — with love from my volunteer friends. My goal is a lead role in a loving home. I’m ready to be someone’s star. My big break is still out there. Maybe you can cast me in the story of your life?

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Bruiser,

Adopted 4-17-25

My rescuer named me Bruiser because when she found me one of my eyes was beat up. Found wandering in Rio Rico, I was dirty and hungry. Since she couldn’t keep me, she brought me to The Animal League where I am safe, clean and well-fed. Also, I have volunteers who play with me! My favorite toys are wands with balls at the end. When I get over-excited, I tend to nip but I’m learning that is a “no-no”, so I turn my attention to my stuffed mice. I’m an active boy who is ready for life in the fast lane. Sound appealing to you?  If so, please come meet me!

Hi… my name is Axel,

Adopted with Jade 9-3-24

I am as soft as a baby bunny. At least that’s what the volunteers cooing over me keep saying! My favorite thing to do is watch the goings on at the shelter from my perch on the windowsill. I can reach out and pat passerby’s, so they’ll notice me and give me a head scratch or two. Hopefully they’ll come on in so they can fully appreciate me! I like the other cats here and would love a home where I can play and scamper about and lounge on a warm windowsill where I can keep an eye on things between naps. Come on in and pet me. You’ll see what a softie I am!

Hi… my name is Zoey (aka Stripes),

Adopted 7-31-24

After being rescued from the desert as a tiny newborn, I was adopted and loved by wonderful people. But now they have some health issues and since I’ve grown into an energetic large dog, they think it best that I find my new home. Friends say I’m a very sweet and smart girl, who loves having fun playing with other dogs and going for car rides. Thanks to early training, I understand “sit” and “wait,” have been completely housetrained, and I’m willing to learn new rules, too. I’m young and strong, so I need someone strong on the other end of the leash. And after we exercise, I can be happily calm and content at home. If you’d like an active best friend for happy trails ahead, I could be yours. Let’s meet soon!
