Animal League News

Hi… my name is Sprout,

Adopted 2-10-24

Guess how I got my name? OK, that’s too easy—I was found in the parking lot at Sprouts! Believe it or not, I walked up to a nice man hoping to warm up on the hood of his car. He was able to bring me to The Animal League and says I was very friendly.  The volunteers here say the same thing. I was well taken care of somewhere, but now I need a new somewhere! You can pick me up, brush me, pet me, the works. I just need to be kept inside. I have a fluffy tabby coat with white on my face and chest. Won’t you come meet me?

Hi… my name is Orbit,

Adopted with Crackle 2-26-24

Mom’s moving out of state, and my buddy Crackle and I aren’t going—waaah! Here we are looking for a new home. We are bonded so we need a home together.  I’m shyer than my buddy and haven’t yet accepted my new situation gracefully. However, the volunteers can pet, scratch and brush me where I’m ensconced under a cat tree. This is my second time looking for a home, having been adopted from here as a kitten. I’m hoping that this time I can find a more long-term arrangement.  Won’t you come look us up? If the idea of two black cats is your idea of fun, we are for you!

Hi… my name is Alexa,

Adopted 9-13-25

My last home was in a senior facility where I was kept in close quarters with other pets (including a dog). I didn’t like this, so here I am! My coat is pure white except for a streak of grey on my head. I’m a big girl and like being brushed. I’m getting used to my new environment, and I like to sleep on a cat tree. I think I’d do best in a quieter home where I had room to find my own space away from other pets. In the past I have sometimes shown my displeasure, but with the right home I think I could put this behind me.

If you are considering adoption, stop in at TALGV to meet me soon. Or you may  call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make an appointment. Kennel hours are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Aries,

Adopted 2-9-24

As a kitten I was adopted by a senior mom who now can no longer care for me. I lived with her, another cat and a small dog. Mom says I’m playful and I like to sleep on a couch. Here I’ve been sleeping in a cubby and I’m friendly with the volunteers. I will circle around you looking for attention and have been known to enjoy being held, on occasion. Petting, scratching and brushing are on my list of favorite things. My coat is mostly black, with a white chest and feet, and a white dot on my chin. I’m young enough to have lots of play time ahead of us.

Hi… my name is Checkers,

Adopted with Pignoli 3-19-24

I am a handsome tuxedo cat with a neat bow tie who’s looking for human companionship. I like to play in crinkle tunnels, but I really love to be petted by my human. I head-butt to get your attention and quickly snuggle into your arms. I readily accept a rub of ears and throat, pronouncing my satisfaction with a contented purr. I’m a friendly guy who was brought to The Animal League from another shelter. For a time, another cat and I lived with a foster family who declared me “wonderful!” I quite agree! The only risk you run in befriending a cat is enriching yourself. So please come in to meet me!

Hi… my name is Cocoa,

Adopted 2-18-24

From my pictures, you can see that I am a handsome little guy with unique white and grey markings. Can you see how scared I am? I am confused as to why I’m at The Animal League. The kind volunteers tell me that my human mom could no longer care for me and my litter mates, so we were all brought in, awaiting adoption. Guess what? My siblings have all been adopted so I’m left behind. In my new surroundings, I’m perplexed so I hide. However, with kind words (and treats!) I’m being coaxed out of my cubby to enjoy human companionship. Perhaps your patience would be just what I need. Please come meet me!

Hi… my name is Bella,

Adopted 2-2-24

Sad was my parting from the only human I’ve ever known. She had a military move that did not allow her to take me with her. In her home, I got along with another cat, but I did not get along with men and hid from children. I prefer another female who will understand me. I’m shy with everyone except my human, so you will need to give me time to trust you. Are you patient? If so, I will reward you with purrs and pleasant times cuddling. I appreciate a covered cat bed for my quiet times. I’m a gentle soul who needs a quiet home where I can be myself.
