What is my best feature: piercing blue eyes, white-as-snow coat, my petite size, oversized ears? All of the above! While I’m shy at first, if you give me time, you’ll find I’m as sweet as pie. But wait, there’s more: I’ve got great house manners, I’m potty-trained, crate trained, quiet as a mouse, and love to go for car and golf-cart rides. So, what’s the downside, you ask? Nothing – as long as you don’t have cats! I’ve become quite the social butterfly with other dogs and am happy to play with them – as long as they have good manners – and respect when it’s time for a break. I’d be best in a house without young kids, as they can overwhelm me. Might I be a good fit for you? Come visit me and find out!

Star Baby

I’m a sweet, friendly, and affectionate Schnauzer mix. If there was a show “Dancing with the Dogs,” I could be a contestant! I can stand, walk, jump, twirl, and dance on my hind legs…alone or with a partner. I understand “sit,” “let’s go,” “no,” and “car.” I’m potty trained (to doggy door) and crate trained (sleeps in at night). Sometimes if I’m hesitant to go in, I can be bribed with peanut butter in a Kong. I’ll need a wall at least five feet high and some basic training to teach/correct behaviors, like jumping. I don’t know about cats, but I get along with other dogs and would probably do well in a family with a dog. After we meet and I’ve danced my way into your heart, let’s waltz straight home!

What a handsome lad I am, a grey tabby with white accents on my nose, chin, and paws. I have soft fur and enjoy being petted. I’m a hefty guy who has lived with a couple. I so appreciated their care because my early years were spent outside as a “working cat.” That was not appropriate to my very loving and affectionate nature. My humans said that I could be chatty—no doubt telling them of my previous adventures! At The Animal League I am laid back, just waiting for you to come meet me. You may find me napping, but please greet me with soft words and petting, and I will respond with purrs.

With ears like mine, one MUST have a sense of humor. I’ve heard I remind people of a long-ago TV show: The Flying Nun. Whatever. I can’t fly, but I DO have what all puppies and dogs have: the ability to make you fall in love with me. I have lots of love to give – especially if you can provide me what puppies require: Exercise, Training, Socialization, etc. If you have other playful dogs and even cats, all the better! I may grow into my oversized ears, or maybe not. Seriously though, have you ever seen such a cute guy? Aside from the other available dogs at TALGV, I mean – LOL! When I was adopted from TALGV about a year ago, I was an adorable puppy. I may have been big for my age but who could guess how much I’d grow in the months to come. Certainly not my adoptive parents! So here I am, a handsome, 1 ½-year-old, 94 lb. Great Dane/Boxer mix, who’s looking for a home. I know how to “sit” and ask to go out. Since I’m a high energy boy, I’ll need someone strong enough to teach me proper leash walking skills, all the basic commands, and good manners (since I’ve been told I should never jump up on people…no matter how lovable I am). I know that once we’ve completed my education, I’ll be a perfect gentleman who’ll make you proud! The adventure begins…are you ready?
