Hi… my name is Feisty,

“Look at those awesome eyes!” That’s what they said when I arrived – and one look and you’ll know they weren’t just “whistlin’ Dixie!” Sometimes they look coppery and sometimes a glowing green. I don’t really live up to my name. I hang out in a soft cubby here but am easily coaxed out and will rub your legs for attention. I like being petted and don’t mind being picked up. I’ve lived in two different homes, and through no fault of my own I find myself looking for a new one now. In my middle age I believe I could be your best companion! Come on by and look into my eyes.

Hash is a friendly and sweet three-year-old, 10-pound Chihuahua male who needs a new home. He is crate trained, leash trained, and house trained (asks to go out). He is neutered and in good health. Hash is good with children and other dogs but cats are unknown. He has a cute personality and sleeps in his own bed. He is bonded with his big companion, Astro, but would probably be okay as an only pet.There is no adoption fee. Although I came to The Animal League as a stray, my foster mom has lots to tell about me! (She prefers to call me “Henry!”) She said that I love attention and am a lap cat. I purr, purr, purr. I will always have a limp because of an old injury (perhaps hit by a car), but that doesn’t slow me down when I run and play. I’m resilient! Although my face may be a little crooked, I eat well. I’m a cuddler! Just ask any TALGV volunteer. When my foster mom brings me in, I’m passed from one volunteer to another. I love to be hugged! I’m sweet and energetic, just waiting to meet you! I am a medium-sized, Shepherd-mix boy who was rescued with four other pups on a Tucson street. The only crime committed by this cereal gang: We were unwanted. (Oh, and maybe a little jaywalking.) Fortunately, some good Samaritans spotted us and brought us to TALGV for a chance at a better life. My volunteer friends say I’m small in stature for a Shepherd mix. They also say I’m a little shy—but that’s to be expected when you’re scared—and that I’m a sweet, mild-mannered fellow who could use some training in basic commands. Are you a patient leader who can teach this Captain the ins-and-outs of being your second in command? And can you provide some ‘crunch,’ too? If so, I’ll provide the love. C’mon, let’s hear it: “Aye, aye, Captain!”
