First, let me say I can run, jump, and get dirty like any dog. Indeed, I love going to the play yard to chase balls, jump in a pool in warm weather, and happily engage in rowdy play with a canine pal. But there’s another side to me, too. I know how to be calm and loving, grateful for a person’s attention and affection. Recently some volunteers gave me a bath and described my behavior as perfect, “an amazing gentleman” during the bath, gorgeous and soft afterward. I share my run with another dog and he’s fun company but some of my favorite times are with friendly humans. I’m a handsome Husky/ Staffie mix male with a black coat and white markings, who’d welcome the chance to share playful, tranquil, and contented times with you.

On my first day here, when a volunteer looked into my deep brown eyes and said, “Welcome to TALGV,” I didn’t know what to think. But I do now! I’ve always had fun playing with my siblings or people, but now I think my learning job is fun, too. For instance, I enjoy practicing with volunteers on what to do for words like “sit,” “stay,” or “wait.” (I’m already good on “sit” and learning more.) I love being outdoors and active, so working on leash-walking is also important for me. As a Husky/Staffie mix female, likely to grow into a good-size dog, I look forward to regular exercise with my person. So, what do you think? I’m a well-mannered, house-trained, command-mastering, playful girl who has been good with dogs, cats and kids. Do you have a lap I can sit on? I love to cuddle and even though I’m 62 pounds of gorgeousness and muscle, I’m gentle. I DO need a secure yard to keep me safe as I’m a very sociable girl who will look for other friends (two-legged and four-legged) to introduce myself to. I’m looking for a long-term situation! For the last year I lived with mom and a dog and we did great. Now mom has health problems and the dog and I need to find someone new to care for us. I’m a little scared right now and spend time snuggled under a blanket. I’m used to sleeping with mom on her bed. The volunteers here are working to help me feel comfortable, and I like being petted and brushed. I’m sure that I would adjust well to a new home and become your special companion. I have a pretty grey coat with black stripes and a white chin. Let’s see if we can work something out!
