Animal League News

Hi… my name is Aldo (aka Curtis),

Adopted 4-24-23

I was rescued from the mountains as a young pup and brought to TALGV where I was adopted a short time later. That was a little over two years, now I’m all grown up. Boy! Have I grown up! As a 100 pound, approximately 3-year-old Great Dane mix, I’m hard to ignore. Not that you’d ever want to because I’m a very friendly, affectionate lad who loves to meet people. I also  get along well with other dogs. Just ask my roommate!  Except for an occasional tug (easily corrected), I walk well on leash. I can use a doggy door and behave when left at home alone. I enjoy a game of keep-away, but please keep me away from fireworks. If love could be measured by weight, imagine the abundance I could share with you.

Hi… my name is Punk,

Adopted 4-8-23

When mom died my whole feline family of eleven had to find new digs. Luckily we were brought to The Animal League. We all get along together and enjoy human companionship. I’m adjusting slowly to The Animal League—at first I just hid out but now I realize that petting is nice! I’ve even been known to rub legs a little. I’m still a bit scared so I’m hoping to find a quiet home with someone who is patient. In my middle age, I’m not as active as I used to be, but I have lots of time to be your companion. Please come meet me and find out if I’m the one for you.

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

When mom died my whole feline family of eleven had to find new digs. Luckily we were brought to The Animal League. We all get along together and enjoy human companionship. I’ve been hanging out in a nice cat bed here, located where the volunteers can reach me to pet and brush me. My longer hair does need the brushing and I enjoy it. My coat is mostly black, and I have a white chin and a white mark on my nose. At my age I come with Vet Care Support for Life, so I’m hoping for a chance at a good home. Why not come check me out?

Hi… my name is Bebe,

Adopted 3-9-23

My friend Chubbs and I were brought to TALGV after being left to our own devices for some time. I am real friendly with people. I’m also quite young and energetic and, as they tell us here, I don’t know much. Apparently there is more to being a dog than playing with each other and getting petted by the two-leggeds! The folks here have started to teach me a few basics, but they say I still need to find someone with a firm but loving hand to teach me what I need to know to be a well-behaved companion in someone’s home. That’s a nice word, “home,” and I am willing to try real hard to have one of my own! Is there room for me in yours?

Hi… my name is Chubbs,

Adopted 2-15-23

I am a white and cream-colored Greek fellow. That’s where my breed originated. We Kokonis are lively, perceptive, and alert dogs and make good companions. We need good, long walks every day and, if possible, a yard to run and play. I was brought to TALGV with my bestie BeBe. No one paid much attention to me where I was living before, so I need to find someone with a firm but loving hand to teach me the ropes. Folks here say that polite dogs need to know how to walk on a leash properly, tell when they need to go potty, and how to sit and stay. I think there was more. (Sigh.)  I love really people.  Do you have room in your heart for a cute Kokoni boy?

Hi… my name is Polar,

Adopted 2-11-24

People tell me I’m a remarkably handsome shepherd, commenting especially on my beautiful white and beige coat and deep brown eyes. That’s nice, of course, but even better is when they see me as a friend—someone to have fun with. I share my run with another dog and every day we run and play together, sit in the sun together, and tolerate each other’s quirks, like when I occasionally use a high-pitched voice to say “no thanks” to a walk. Fun with human friends includes playing fetch, sharing quiet times, or working a canine puzzle and they tell me how smart I am! Of course, I’ll meet my best friend when someone takes me home and we love each other forever. Please come visit and see if we could be that happy match!  (bio updated 12-28-23)

Hi… my name is Lila,

Adopted 1-18-24

My foster home was just what I needed! It didn’t take long for me to feel at home and comfortable around the family. I was always ready to greet them on their return home! Almost immediately, the resident dog and I became friends and had fun playing together. I quickly learned my way around the house, which made me feel more secure and relaxed. At The Animal League, for my outside breaks, and the use of the potty, I use the doggie door. I may not like thunder, but being close to someone helps alleviate any anxiety I may have. One might think that since I’m blind, due to glaucoma, I couldn’t be happy. They’d be wrong! Why don’t you come over and meet me, and find out all about me. To me, happiness is good food, a soft bed, and your family to share my love!

Hi… my name is Roxanne,

Adoptd 8-3-24

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

Shortly after I was rescued and taken to TALGV, I moved into a foster home. I know basic commands, and let you know when I need to go out to potty; routine helps. I even found my own personal spot in the backyard for that purpose! I sleep all night on my own bed, enjoy sitting on the couch, don’t play with toys, and love going for car rides and walks. I walk well on a leash but react, by pulling very hard, when meeting “small” dogs. I need a strong walker and probably a home without any “small” pets. It’s important to note that I come with Vet Care Support for Life. I’m a sweet, well-behaved girl who’s  patiently waiting for you to take me home. Did I say patiently? Please hurry!

Hi… my name is Samantha,

A petite lady, I was smart enough to show up in the backyard of a kind man who although he couldn’t keep me, he knew to bring me to The Animal League. Well, you absolutely must come meet me!   I am over-the-top adorable! I have so much love to give you and years to shower you with my affection. Would you like to pamper me by brushing my lovely grey and white coat of fur? I would love that. At my young age, I’m ready to eat, play, and cuddle. How about it? I’m into togetherness. Are you?
