Animal League News

Hi… my name is Sherman,

Adopted 11-20-22

A scary life event happened to my owner and I was brought to TALGV with my pal, Rex. I don’t know what I would have done without Rex, because he was so outgoing he helped me enjoy life. Some things, like cats or big winds, are still scary, but you know how opposites attract, well that was Rex and me.  I won’t help much with housework, but I really like to sit with you and cuddle. If you give me a window seat, I can keep an eye out to protect you from scary things, real or imagined. Rex has been adopted now so I’m a single package of love looking for my forever home. Could that be with you?

Hi… my name is MacKenzie,

Adopted 1-18-23

I had quite an experience finding my way to The Animal League. After being rescued as a stray in Nogales, the woman who agreed to bring me here put me up in her bathroom for one night. That was when my four kittens decided to be born! It was a surprise to my rescuer, but she got all of us in to the shelter. Now my babies are being fostered until they are big enough to be adopted. I’m all ready though! I’m super friendly and will roll over for petting and brushing. I like laps, too. I’m looking forward to a friendly home where I can shower my affection on you!

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

Well, it was good while it lasted! I lived in a home with children, dogs and cats for almost all of my life. I was good with the kids but not so much with the other animals. I’m a big tuxedo girl who likes petting and am very loving with people in general.  You can see in my photo some marks on my nose; we’re not sure how that happened but I’m getting it cared for. I would dearly love to find a home where I can be the one-and-only pet. With my senior status I come with vet care support for life, which is one more reason to come check me out!

Hi… my name is Fawn,

adopted 11-4-22

When I arrived at The Animal League, I had a feeling this is where I was meant to be. I was right! During a recent photo shoot, while posing in my Halloween costume, I showed the folks at TALGV what a natural model I am. I’m a very loving, friendly gal who enjoys treats, and I discovered the only way I can get them is to work for them. I might add I REALLY enjoy my work! I’m friendly and very affectionate, love human companionship, use a doggy door, and am working on my leash walking skills.  When you come in to meet me, once I get over my initial excitement, I may show you a few commands I know like: “sit,” “shake,” and “down.” If I can learn all that, just imagine the possibilities once we get home.

Hi… my name is Masterpiece,

Adopted 10-23-22

Are you familiar with my breed? We Maine Coons are one of the oldest breeds in North America. We originated in the State of Maine (hence, the name) and are known as “Gentle Giants.” We are friendly and affectionate. We love to be near our person(s).  So, why am I at The Animal League? Well, after showing up at my rescuer’s house several times, she brought me here where I’m being well cared for. Although I’m termed a “stray,” I am very calm. Who knows how long I wandered about? I am so ready for my own human to shower with love and affection. If you want a loyal companion, I’m your guy!

Hi… my name is Rocky,

Adopted 1-26-23

My owner gave me to a friend, but the friend didn’t keep me. After several days of making the rounds on the GV Country Club fairways, I was brought to TALGV. I’m a male Akita/Husky mix, about 9 months old, who’s looking for a home. I haven’t had very much training in the past, but I’m getting it now! I’m enrolled in “Basic Commands 101” (sit, down, stay, etc.), and I’m also taking a course in “Leash Training 102.” I understand that “Socializing 103” is a lesson EVERYONE needs. I recently made a friend in our play yard, and maybe one of these days I’ll be lucky and get a roommate. I know there’s someone out there just for me. Someone firm, patient, and above all…loving. Could that someone be YOU?

Hi… my name is Luna,

Adopted 2-12-23

My family was moving across country to a place that would not accept pets, so here I am waiting for my new home. My mom said that I’m shy at first but love to cuddle once I warm up to you. TALGV volunteers are finding this true as I adjust to being here. I love to nap in a cat tower or bed. I have lived with a family who have young children and have lived with another cat. However, I have not lived with dogs so I’m not sure about those canines. I’m not a picky eater. Don’t I sound like the perfect feline? Please come meet me. I’m ready to go to my new home!
