Hi… my name is Nellie,

Adopted 5-2-21

I’m a 2-year-old female Basset/Staffie mix and I’m looking for a home. I can use most doggie doors (I have short legs), and according to a volunteer I’m sweet and I “walk like a dream.” When I recently had a visitor, we had a long conversation about the situation I’m in. You know! No forever-home. We sat face to face and I patiently waited until she finished talking, then I replied with series of a soft, low howls. I don’t know if she understood me, but for some reason she thought that was adorable. What can I say, I AM adorable! You really need to meet me to appreciate me. With my mixed heritage I’ll double your pleasure, double your fun, and you will admit that I’m the one!

Hi… my name is Sonya,

Adopted 10-7-20

I was found, along with my daughter, Morgan, roaming     around a local neighborhood. I must admit, living rough was really hard for two gentle girls like us. Morgan was even attacked by a cactus. Then we were both rescued. When I   first arrived at TALGV, I became the center of attention. I  guess my short Basset body and my Shar Pei face pulled on   the volunteers’ heartstrings. Naturally, I was lapping it up and spreading my attention and affection around. I know how to use the doggie door and I enjoy going for walks. I’m always happy to greet everyone who comes to visit. Just think, with just one phone call, you too could visit and your visit could very well become my forever home. See you soon!

Hi… my name is Morgan,

Adopted 10-9-20

A cactus is not my friend. I learned this lesson the hard way, while exploring a desert area with my mother, Sonya. When we were rescued, my first stop was a visit to the vet’s for cactus removal. After that uncomfortable experience we were re-united at TALGV, where I felt loved. I’m a friendly, fun-loving, gal that seems to like everyone. A quick bark or two to get your attention and I will roll over on my back so you can give me a belly rub. I can use the doggie door and I enjoy a walk with the volunteers. Please call for a visit so you can take in the whole package that is ME. You would be surprised how quickly these short little legs can carry me to YOU.

Penny is an active, social 9-month-old, 40-pound Bassett/Shepherd mix female who needs a new home. She is crate trained, leash trained, and has some obedience training (knows “sit,” “down,” and “fetch”). She asks to go out and uses doggy door but is still working on potty training. She is in good health, spayed, up to date on shots and medical records are available. Penny gets along with other dogs and older children; cats are unknown. She loves water, chewing on bones, cuddling, and to fetch.

There is no adoption fee for this sweet girl.

If you will welcome Penny into a loving home as part of your family, please call Andrea between 10 AM and 7 PM at 520-307-9481.

Hi… my name is Mackie,

Adopted December 27, 2015

My name is a hint about where I was found—in the parking lot near a particular McRestaurant. Guess that playful name is appropriate since I do love to have fun, and I find it almost everywhere because I’m interested in almost everything! On my walks, I sniff the air and what’s underfoot, look all around and then look at you to see if you’re interested, too. I’m grey (almost brown-grey) and white, a Staffie/Bassett mix, and at just 6 months old and 31 pounds, I’m still a little girl, but one who’s confident, curious, and lively. The volunteers say I’m “awfully cute;” I prefer “blossoming beauty,” but you be the judge. I’d love to have some adventures with you, so please come meet me and let’s see how much fun we can share!

Hi… my name is Reggie.

Adopted April 14, 2015.

Anyone who’s ever had a Basset hound or a Dachshund can tell you, we’re just about the most delightful dogs in the world — and I’m no exception! I totally ADORE people (and the attention that comes from them!), I have a sweet, happy temperament, love walks and car rides, playing fetch, and am just plain very smart. I’m crate trained, but I’m still working on perfect house manners (my foster mom said, “If I just had one more week…” when she left for vacation). I get along with other dogs (but am not terribly fond of little kids and have never been around cats), so all I need to be the perfect companion is consistency in my training. If you’ve got that, have I got a deal for you!
