Hi… my name is Polly,

Adopted June 12, 2016

“You’re such a good dog,” said the man who found me near a local restaurant. When he couldn’t find an owner, he brought me to TALGV, where the volunteers said the same thing; “You’re such a good dog!” At first, I thought maybe it was the cute curl in my tail they liked, my pretty tan-blonde coat, or even the way my ears perk up. But now I’ve figured it out! I’m a good dog because my sweet nature shows in how I treat people; I’m affectionate, can be gentle, and do my best to make friends with the people I meet. Of course, I like to play, too! I’m still young and energetic, and eager to learn new things. Won’t you please give me the chance to be your very own good dog!

Hi… my name is Lucy,

Adopted March 13, 2016

My amazing story leaves even experienced dog people speechless! It started with a quiet rescue. I was lost and too bashful to be caught until someone offered chicken, which I found irresistible. TALGV was full, so I went to board at a vet’s office, where they found a lump on my side. Something metal was sticking through my skin! They pulled; it wouldn’t budge; so they x-rayed. I had an 8-inch Phillips-head screwdriver in my stomach ! Off to surgery we went; the screwdriver was removed (see last photo in gallery); and no related damage found. Now I’m healed up and ready for some good times. I’m a 2-year-old Boxer mix female, sweet and playful, but not good with cats and probably best as your only dog. How about we create another amazing story of love and fun together!

Hi… my name is Godiva,

Adopted December 22, 2015

“She loves my kids and is the sweetest thing.” That’s what the woman who found me told TALGV, and the volunteers agree wholeheartedly that I’m sweetness on four paws. I’d been lost when I wandered into that lady’s garage, so I was relieved to find a kind stranger. And now, after being a little shy at first, the real me is shining through—friendly, glad for company and to go on walks, and very tuned in to people who give me some attention, which means I’ll be eager to make you happy, too. I’m young, 18 months old, mainly chocolate brown with some white, and a nice medium-size Boxer mix female. I’d be a great addition to most households, so how about yours? Could be the best place for us is together!

MINDY and NINA are energetic, loving, smart, and sweet 6-month-old purebred (no papers) female Boxers who need a new home because owner can no longer keep. They should be adopted together as they are very bonded. They are housebroken and crate trained and are working on leash training. At 36 pounds they are growing fast and need a family that can devote more time to their training (already know sit and stay). Mindy and Nina are healthy girls who are spayed and up to date on shots. They have had limited contact with children and cats are unknown. There is no adoption fee. If you will welcome Mindy and Nina into a loving home as part of your family, please call Jim between 8 AM and 8 PM at 520-444-2782.

Hi… my name is Argo,

Adopted February 13, 2016

My sister, Allie, and I were found wandering together, starving, each with evidence of having been hit with pellets. Imagine how grateful we were to the woman who took us in, and how happy she was to discover that despite our past troubles, we are both friendly dogs. With 7 animals already, she couldn’t keep us, and so our journey has now brought us to TALGV. I’m a 2-year-old Boxer mix male, black and tan, about 55 pounds. If you like to play, I’m your guy! And since I’m so interested in you and eager to be your friend, you’ll probably have fun teaching me what I need to know to be even better. Please let me show you the fun I can add to your safe and loving home.

Hi… my name is Roxie.

Adopted August 22, 2015

I wish I could tell you my whole story and confide in you what made me shy, but for now will just say that I was so hungry for company that I approached a stranger’s house. He couldn’t keep me, so now I’m at TALGV, where my new friends are helping me build my confidence. They compliment my graceful movements and my beautiful brindle coat. I’m a 55-pound Boxer/Lab mix, so I have an athletic kind of build, but I’m good at stepping gently. Of course, I’d love to feel free to play and know the joy of hanging out with someone whose friendship I can always count on, so if that sounds good to you, too, please come for a visit. We can make lots of happy future stories together!

Hi… my name is Bali (aka Bella).

Adopted February 17, 2016

When my family moved and couldn’t take me with them, I was sad, of course, but right away started believing someone else could love me, too. I remember all the good things I’ve learned, like “sit,” “down” and “stay.” Best of all, I know how important it is to love somebody. I try to show that when I meet new people by wiggling and sometimes speaking in my high soprano happy bark. And once I’ve adjusted to the joy of someone noticing me, I’ll walk calmly by their side on the leash, occasionally looking up just to let them know I’m noticing them, too. I’m a comfy-size adult Boxer mix female with a big loving heart who’d be happy to meet you and thrilled to belong to you. Please come visit me today!
