Hi… my name is Sasha.

I was adopted June 11, 2014.

I was found in October in the desert by my “mom’s” co-workers and since none of them could keep me, she took me home. She had every intention of keeping me forever, but she had to move to a new place that didn’t allow pets. She said I’m really a sweet girl who loved to play in the water with her kids (although as a puppy, sometimes I got a little rambunctious, but a firm “no” got me to stop right away). I’m “mostly” potty trained (I need a little extra outing at night), and I know that with a little education, I’ll have all my ABCs down pat. I’m a charming young tan and white Staffie and Boxer mix girl (my “learning skills” are getting swifter by the day!), and I’ve got high hopes I’ll get to spend the New Year admiring the view from my new home and yard!

Hi… my name is Rafferty.

I was adopted on June 30, 2014.

There are lots of interesting places between Esperanza Boulevard and Duval Mine Road, but I was too close to Interstate 19 to be able to check them out before a lovely lady picked me up and saved me from anything bad happening. Where I came from is a mystery, but in the short time she had me, she said that I had a sweet disposition and the volunteers here seem to agree. Although I can be a bit shy on first meeting you, I warm up to people really quickly. I’ve had a run all to myself for a while, so they’re still working on finding out my “social skills” with other dogs, but I’m doing pretty well walking on leash so I’m sure all my other qualities will become evident in no time. I’m an interesting young Boxer/terrier mix with black/tan/brindle coloring, so come meet me and see how terrific I am for yourself!

Hi… my name is Maggie.

I was adopted July 9, 2014.

I appeared on the front porch of a home in Amado last year and stayed there for three weeks while he looked for my owners. During that time there was one of those rare winter storms and I didn’t like being outside in that at all! Well, for now the storms are gone (and apparently so are my erstwhile owners!), so here I am, looking for a safe haven where I can weather the summer monsoons in the home of my new family. I’m a lovely Staffie/Boxer mix girl, and I even know commands like sit, stay, down, and shake, so someone loved me enough to teach me them at one time. I’d make a great watchdog, and although I’m not fond of other dogs (I’ve never been around cats), I adore people and giving kisses, so have great expectations that you’ll want me to share them with you!

Hi… my name is Dutch.

I was adopted on April 7, 2014.

I am one handsome specimen of a Boxer/terrier mix guy who was found in July 2009. After I’d been here a while, they wanted to see how I would behave in a “real” home situation, so I lived with a foster mom for a time. You can “read all about it” in her notes, but here are excerpts: “I found Dutch to be calm, quiet, gentle and affectionate. Dutch is not a barker, doesn’t jump and stays fairly calm at home, which is quite different from how he appears in a kennel situation. Although he pulls on a choke collar, he does well with a ‘gentle leader,’ knows basic commands, and plays rough and tumble with big dogs, so maybe avoid dog parks as there are a lot of unknowns there. Dutch will make a great companion for an EXPERIENCED, dog owner.” There’s LOTS more about me at TALGV, so please come see it and then meet me.
