Hi… my name is Thor,

Adopted 12-16-19

I’m 4 years old and 17 pounds of pure sweetness! I’m a male Terrier/Chihuahua whose family consisted of 5 children, a Rottweiler, a cat, and a Mom and Dad. They had to move out of state to a place that couldn’t accept pets. My Dad said I love playing fetch and cuddling. The volunteers say I bond very easily and make friends in a very short time. In just a few days, I’ve learned to walk on leash for the first time, and I’ve made a lot of new friends. In fact, I see everyone who walks through the door as a potential new friend or family member! Come see me and fall in love. I know I will.

Hi… my name is George,

Adopted 11-21-19

Note: Bio needs revision

Can you imagine being my size (about 6 pounds) and out on the street on my own? You bet I was running! I’m so glad someone spotted me and brought here, where I’m safe and can relax. Now when I run, it’s part of playtime. I’m also happy to crawl into a friendly lap, and I’m definitely lapdog size. Some of my new friends at TALGV tell me I have an entertaining personality, and I’m hoping you think so, too. I’m a 2-1/2-year-old Chihuahua male, a little guy with big dreams for a happy future. Every day I imagine being with someone who loves me and I love them back, in a forever home of my own. Please come for a visit so I can show you how happy we can be together.

Hi… my name is Sandie,

Adopted 10-30-19

I’m just a foot and a half tall and a year and a half old. I’m buff both in color and physique. You could say I’m well balanced! I’m here at TALGV because my Mom and Dad worked long hours and said I’m “a sweetheart who deserves more companionship.” I’m a friendly girl with people and other dogs. The combination of having brains and curiosity led me to figuring out how to open a handle doorknob and jump a fence. Safety doesn’t cross my mind when there’s something to explore on the other side. Right now I’m wondering who’s going to come through my door from the other side and take me to my new home!

Hi… my name is Olivia,

Adopted 10-25-19

Abandoned and alone in the house with our brother after our human Mom died, my sister, Blanca, and I were rescued by an angel. She found our brother who died of starvation, and she took us in to comfort, love, and feed us. But her other big dogs weren’t happy with two Chihuahuas, so she brought us to TALGV. Understandably, at first we were petrified, but after just one day of nurturing by the volunteers, we started reclaiming our trust in people.  By the afternoon of that first day, we were sitting on their laps. We know how to use piddle pads, but we’re just learning about leashes. I’ve relied on Blanca throughout our ordeal, but I’m gaining independence. I’m eager to start life over, loving you, and trusting that I’ll never be abandoned again.

Hi… my name is Pepper,

Adopted 10-27-19

I was one of 23 chihuahuas in one household and am now learning how to bond with humans. My buddies were all canines, and I’m here with 2 of my housemates, Sarge and Toby. When we arrived at TALGV, we were all scared, and I hunkered down in my bed for weeks. I’ve started to come out of my shell recently, and know now that a collar and leash won’t hurt me. I’ll walk a little outside, but the noises coming from big things on wheels scare the heebie-jeebies out of me! Once I get to know and trust you, I’ll sit on your lap and lap up your affection. My wish is for a patient person and a calm home life where I’ll feel secure enough to let my true nature blossom.

Hi… my name is Toby,

Adopted with Sarge 3-6-20

I was one of 23 chihuahuas in one household and am now learning how to bond with humans. My buddies were all canines, and I’m back together with my brother Sarge who came here 5 months ahead of me. When I arrived at TALGV, I was scared, and I admit to growling at people who tried to coax me out of my kennel. I now know they were just trying to make friends. I’m still leery of being approached by a stranger, but I’m letting the volunteers dress me in a collar and harness and take me for walks. That’s something that used to scare me stiff! Step by step, and day by day, I’m making progress toward my dream of becoming a devoted companion in a loving home.
