I’m sure that some day I’ll be a long-term couch potato, and I know how that feels; I tucker out at some point every day, but I’m usually a high-spirited guy. My boundless energy makes me a great pal for activities like playing, walking, hiking, jogging–I’m your guy for fun! And my endearing silly streak is good for laughs along the way. The woman who found me discovered that I know commands like sit, paw, and lay down, but I had a weakness—I went after chickens, so please be mindful of that if you have poultry. Otherwise, I’m raring to go as your guy for happy trails and good times ahead for you and me.

Back when I was a really young pup, my person said she couldn’t socialize me because it was too hot for walks. Granted, some Arizona days are best spent somewhere cool, but we all need socialization, right? So, being here has helped me a lot. I’ve attended class with people and other dogs, and have impressed friends with my good behavior there. Oh, I’m still young, strong, and learning, but already walk nicely on a leash, obey basic commands, have been gentle taking treats, and can be very active at times, calm at others. (In my former home, I was also housetrained and used a doggie door.) Training, patience and love equal a winning combination so far, and if you let me be your loyal companion, we could share lots of happy trails together!

I was found in the parking lot of a doctor’s office (a doctor for humans, that is). The story of how I came to be lost is unknown, and that’s okay by me. I’m a today-and-tomorrow kind of guy—eager, lively, looking for fun. Oh, if you tell me to sit, I’ll do it. My friends here say I’m smart and “trainable” (especially with treats). But I hope your word for me is “likeable,” maybe even “loveable.” The thing is, as much fun as I’m having here, every night I dream of the same thing: My forever home with a person or family of my own. I’m a 2-year-old Heeler/Hound mix male, 49 pounds, and I’d love to meet you, because I’m thinking we could make each other very happy for a very long time!

Now, when I meet new people here, I have fun showing how happy I am just to be with them.
