Hi… my name is Millie,

Adopted 1-29-24

I’ve been at TALGV for a while because, after a tough start in life, I can have issues when overstimulated. I take medication to help me take more things in stride but will need continued guidance. My foster mom says I’m a good houseguest: I get along with her dogs, do well in my crate when left alone and at night, and know all basic commands. She also reports that I don’t jump fences or dig in the yard, and ride well in the car. My ideal forever home is calm and quiet, without kids, small dogs or cats, but preferably with a doggie companion. If you have experience dealing with a “slightly less than perfect” dog and the time and patience to direct me, I’ll try my best to become your most loyal companion.

Hi… my name is Sheba,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

It’s that time of life when I may have a middle-age spread, a couple of aches and pains, and I might not be able to see and hear as well as I used to, but I think I’m fine the way I am. I need a new home due to my former owner’s health issues. My foster mom taught me how to use a doggie door, and the commands “sit,” “wait,” and “stop.” In fact, I taught HER how to heel, and she follows me everywhere. OOPS!…that could be the other way around. Whatever! I like to stay close! On walks I get a little snappy with other dogs, otherwise I seem fine with them. I come with Vet Care Support for Life… tempted? Once we meet in person, I think I’ll be coming home with you.

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Jake,

Adopted 9-19-21

My being found isn’t a mystery, but what happened to my missing eye definitely is! Whatever happened hasn’t taken away my positive outlook on life. I may seem shy at first, but watch out…here comes the wagging tail followed by many kisses. I LOVE people!! I’m definitely a good candidate for training and even though I walk quite well, my desire to be close to my handler is probably the reason why. A vehicle ride puzzled me and after assistance getting in, I found a secure, safe place to stay until we arrived at the park. There I was excited by all the sights and smells, and when meeting two other dogs (one large, one small), I was curious but I didn’t react. Now is the time for you to react! PLEASE TAKE ME HOME!

Hi… my name is Orion,

Adopted 8-17-21

Being in foster is “almost” like being in a forever home. I’m enjoying my stay while learning house manners, potty training and other useful lessons that every pup should know. There is also basic training that I will need YOU to help me with. My foster mom reports that I’m very playful, active, fun loving, and intelligent. I enjoy jogging or going on energetic walks, and my favorite activity is playtime. Of course at the age of 3 months, it’s always playtime! Socialization and mental stimulation (what BIG words!) are what every pup needs to grow into a happy, well-balanced dog. My foster mom recommends agility training and other activities for an active intelligent boy like me. Nothing is accomplished in a day but in a lifetime, who knows? Please give me a lifetime in your home.

Hi… my name is Jacob,

Adopted 7-16-21

I was dirty and all alone near Mission and McGee Ranch when I was rescued, bathed, and brought to TALGV. I have a “zest” for life; I’m happy meeting new people and enjoy going on occasional outings. I love riding safely secure in a car, with my nose in the air and a breeze in my face, watching the world fly by. I also enjoy my walks and pay close attention to my handler. I’m neutral around other dogs but get a bit antsy around groups of dogs, especially when they misbehave, so it may be best to avoid dog parks. I know the commands “sit,” “down,” and “wait,” and I’m eager to learn more. If you’re missing something in your life, why not add a little “zest” to it, namely ME!

Hi… my name is Rigger (aka Hutch),

Adopted 7-5-21

I’m making a return appearance at TALGV due to a change in family dynamics. I’m still handsome, intelligent, and energetic, and walk well on a leash. I need a secure yard with room to run and play, and my breed also needs a “job” or purpose. That said, I really love the game “fetch” and playing with toys. I will even drop them at your feet to include you in my playtime. I’m sociable and have gotten along with both children and other dogs. I’ve been sleeping in a crate at night but being confined in one, in a moving vehicle, makes me nauseous. I understand the commands “sit,” “down,” and “wait.” These also work well if I get excited and when food is involved. Please make an appointment to meet me. Bring the whole family!

Hi… my name is Nova,

Adopted 6-13-21

I’m a young Heeler mix and new mom to six adorable, healthy pups. They’ve reached the age where they’re starting to leave the litter and move into their forever homes. Soon I’ll be an “empty nester” and ready to experience a new life and home of my own. After I was found under a shed giving birth to my puppies, we were rescued and brought to TALGV. I’m a gentle girl and I enjoy affection whenever I can get it. Since my history is a mystery, you can imagine how much all this attention means to me. I can definitely get used to it! I can use a doggie door and I’ve been practicing walking on leash. Remember, I’m still somewhat a pup myself and I need what my puppies need, lots of love!
