Animal League News

Hi… my name is Mork,

Adopted August 6, 2015

My sister Mindy and I were lost puppies—barely more than babies—when some horses brought us good luck. (Probably life-saving good luck!) A man going out to feed the horses spotted us. We were very frightened, but he fed us and eventually was able to bring us here. I’m a Lab/Hound mix male—currently 29 pounds and growing—with a handsome rust-colored coat and very expressive brown eyes that might tell you what I feel even when I’m being shy. As we become acquainted with the volunteers, I’m relaxing more and more, playing puppy games with my sister and enjoying fun in the sun! If you have the patience for a puppy, I know we could have lots of fun, too. Could I get lucky again and find a forever home with you?

Hi… my name is Leia,

Adopted July 18, 2016

Last two photos were taken in March when I was just 3 months old. My owner moved away and couldn’t take me. Why don’t you stop by The Animal League to meet me right away? I bet we would both be happy if you did.

Hi… my name is Missy,

Adopted May 29, 2016

I was found with my Terrier friend Sissy—two young pups running loose. I won’t say we were running free because when you don’t know where to find your next meal, clean water, or a safe place to rest, you don’t feel all that free. But we did stick together and her company made me happy. I’m super friendly by nature and not just with a dog buddy. I really like people, too; sometimes I even try to show it with a great big smile! I’m about 26 pounds, a brown and white Hound mix female, and I’d love to show you how much fun I can be. At just 7 months old, I’ll be your happy and loyal companion for a long time to come, so please let me into your heart today!

Hi… my name is Thelma,

Adopted 11-5-16

Thelma has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate

On a lucky day for us, my buddy, Louise, and I were rescued from a dangerous spot—a busy store parking lot—and brought to this safe place. Back then, I was too skinny, so I’ve been especially happy with the regular meals around here! And there are more good things—we go on regular walks, I have dog buddies to run and play with, and I recently did something extra special: I earned the AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate! That award was given thanks to my excellent performance in the behavior department. So yes, I’ve made friends and done well here, and I’m hoping that makes me your kind of dog! I’m a Hound mix female, and I want to be the Hound dog who loves you through all the good times ahead.

Hi… my name is Nathan,

Adopted February 6, 2016

Is it really darkest before the dawn? You could say it was for me. I was in real danger—hurt, left alone on a scary road—when I was rescued and brought to TALGV. All of a sudden, I was important. They gave me food, water, and gentle care, took me to a doctor, and then my very special foster people took me to their place. They’re teaching me good-to-know dog things; we go on long walks and cuddle every day. They say I’m a real sweetie, which is easy when you like people as much as I do. So that’s me up till now—a tan Hound mix male, 33 pounds—who’d love to meet you real soon. I think the best is yet to be, the day we get together forever!

Hi… my name is Dora,

Adopted June 27, 2015

When my family adopted my sister, Princess, and I right after we were weaned, they had every good intention of making sure that we got the puppy training we needed. Well, they had three young kids (whom we totally adored) and they needed so much attention that that plan quickly fell by the wayside! When one of the kids got sick, they had even less time for us, so here I am now, a 9-month-old Husky/Lab/ Hound mix, and eager to learn all “good dog etiquette” things I missed out on. I’m always on the lookout for human interaction, get along great with my sister, but I absolutely don’t “do” cats at all, so a home where I can get lots of attention from humans will make my life complete!

Hi… my name is Robin,

Adopted December 23, 2015

When I was lost, I tried finding a home by just walking into someone’s yard. They were kind to me there, but they already had all the critters they could handle. My next stop was TALGV, and I think my chances of finding my forever home are much better here. I’m naturally friendly, so I enjoy seeing visitors and especially love walk time. No need to ask me twice to have fun—I’m a young and energetic girl who can run and play with ease. I still have things to learn, but I’m so eager to please, I’m sure you could teach me. At 40 pounds, with a shiny black and white coat and a happy disposition, I just know I’m perfect for somebody. Please let it be you!

Hi… my name is Anya,

Adopted December 5, 2015

I was alone in the desert until a kindhearted family found me. I really liked the little girl who lived there. They said I’m “great with kids,” and had fun playing with the family dogs, too, except the one that didn’t like me! In fairness, I didn’t like their cats. One other thing they noticed: I’m in need of love. Training, too, but we know training goes best with lots of love. I’m a 40-pound female Heeler/Hound mix, black, white and brindle in color, with bright eyes to show how much I’d love to see you. All rooms were full when I arrived, so I’m in a boarding kennel, but TALGV can arrange for us to meet. Just give them a call, and then just imagine how happy we’ll be to see each other.
