Hi… my name is Blondie,

Adopted 5-5-18

Blondie has earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

I’ll tell you how I was found if you promise to remember that I’m a happy, thriving puppy and everything’s fine with me now. Here goes: A man was driving down Pima Mine Road when he saw me being thrown out of the car ahead of him. That was awful, but it’s over. Today, I’m a puppy with a bright future because I’m here, ready to meet you and fall in love. Oh, I admit I need someone to guide me—a patient person who’ll teach me good manners, good leash walking, and all those important good-dog things. I have webbed feet so we think I’m part Lab, and part Staffie; a cute, friendly, fun-loving, tan female. Won’t you please show me how wonderful a loving, forever home can be?

Adopted 7-28-17

KOLOHE is a smart and energetic 5-year-old, 52-pound mix of Shepherd, golden lab, and black mouth cur male who needs a new home because people who have owned him for 3 years have to be away long hours and don’t have much time for him. They would like to give Kolohe the opportunity to be in a home where he can have more attention and possibly a dog buddy. He is neutered, in good health, and is up to date with his shots (medical records are available). He loves rides and is obedience trained – knows many commands in both English and Hawaiian. He is leash trained and needs outdoor exercise, play time, and companionship to keep him content. He is very quiet and will hide to escape thunderstorms. Kolohe gets along with female dogs and most male dogs unless they are large and dominant; tolerates owner’s cat; kids are unknown. He does not get on furniture; he sleeps on floor in owner’s bedroom. There is no adoption fee. If you will welcome Kolohe into a loving home as part of your family, please call Pamela between 12 and 6 PM at 520-631-1863.

Hi… my name is Chico,

Adopted with Lexi 8-15-17

Comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

My dear friend Lexi and I have been together since we were puppies. She’s a German Shepherd mix female; I’m a rust-colored Lab mix male. Since our former people no longer have room for us, we’re really glad to have each other. I’m 12 years old, 74 pounds, and I’m “the friendly one”—sweet Lexi is more shy. Our former people thought we’d have trouble with small children, but the young teenagers who help here at TALGV have become our great friends and walk partners. And we love all the comforts of living indoors for a change! Lexi and I want to stay together, so please know we each come with FREE Vet Care for Life, and offer two hearts full of gratitude and love if you’ll let us be family with you.

Arrived 6-20-17

Note: Chico is available for adoption with his long-time companion, Lexie.

Hi… my name is Brady,

Adopted 8-8-17

Right before being rescued, I was almost hit by a car. Needless to say, the kind person who helped me out that day received a super-sized thank-you from me! And then I was happy to come here, where people are friendly and fun. That’s what I had in mind when I was lost and searching—active people who enjoy exercise and energetic playtime, along with a loyal companionship that lasts forever. I’m a young yellow Lab male,  about 73 pounds, with a whole lot of living to do. I know what it is to be a stray dog—without a home or anyone who loves you especially, but the good life is out there, too. Won’t you let me be your lively, devoted buddy—the one who thinks you’re the greatest!

Hi… my name is Mr. Clyde (aka Comet),

Adopted 6-11-17

My sister and I were adopted as puppies, renamed Bonnie and Clyde, and things were going great until a serious health issue arose for one of our people. As a result, they had to move to another state and knew there wouldn’t be time for us. Fortunately, Bonnie has already found a new home, and I’m ready to be next! A handsome 14-month-old black Lab, 73 pounds, I haven’t had formal training but I’m already really good on a leash and understand “no” and “down.” My best qualities? Probably my sweet nature and people-pleasing personality. I’ll be happy by your side for the active life as well as easy-going times. And believe me, I’ll be wanting you to be happy, too. So what do you say? Shall we take the happy trails together?

Hi… my name is Big Red,

Adopted 4-7-18

I’m called a gorgeous Lab/Shepherd mix, but I’m a humble guy—just call me “Red”—and trusting people is hard for me. Fortunately, I love other dogs! We have great fun together and I watch and learn from them. In my foster family, my best dog friend taught me how to use the doggie door, eat around people and other dogs, and even how to let people be affectionate with me. Turns out, it can be awesome! I understand some important words and also can be quite content just playing with my favorite toy. Deep in my heart, I hold the dream of my own home, sharing life with another dog and our loving person or family, who’ll be very patient while I learn to trust. Could my dream come true with you?

Hi… my name is Shadow,

Adopted 5-26-17

One dark night, around 2 a.m., there was a pounding on a door. It opened, a friendly face appeared, and a new chapter of my life began. I’d been abandoned—a young black Lab, tied to a fence and left in the shadows, but the woman at the door came to my rescue. “You’re a very nice dog,” she said kindly, and soon brought me here, where I’ve made lots more new friends (despite being shy at first). They agree I’m very nice, plus energetic, strong, playful, and extraordinarily handsome. At 18 months, I’m okay on a leash, but a bit of an escape artist through open doors (we’ll see if that changes once I settle in). Together, I bet we can write the book on happy companionship, so how about we start today!

Hi… my name is Camellia,

Adopted 5-3-17

Comes with FREE Vet Care for Life

At 10 years of age, I’m glad to say I know what love is. Some time ago, when I’d been abandoned, neighborhood kids fed me for 3 weeks. Then I was adopted, but due to health concerns of their own, my people had to bring me here. Love flows both ways, of course, so I understand and wish them only the best. But I do need a new home, and since I’m an older dog, that requires someone special. I’m overweight and have some concerns older dogs often do, but I also have good news: I come with FREE Vet Care for Life! I’m leash trained (although I walk slowly), I love children, and if you have a place in your heart for me, I’d love to share my gentle, peaceful company with you.

Hi… my name is Sophia,

Adopted 4-23-17

Due to her own health issues, my former owner was worried about my well being and so decided that I should find a new home. Since I’m only 4 months old, that’s pretty much my story up to now, although I’m doing my best to get ready for fun times up ahead. I’m learning how to walk well on a leash along with other important puppy lessons—according to the volunteers, I’m intelligent and attentive, (you could say I’m all ears.) And, I’m happy to say, being a playful and loving pup just comes naturally to me. At slightly under 36 pounds, I’m a tan and white female who’s friendly and confident, but a wee bit lonely. My forever home can’t come too soon, so if that’s with you, can we please meet today!

Hi… my name is Dusk,

Adopted 4-21-17

My sister, Dawn, and I were rescued just in the nick of time! We were found on the side of Sahuarita Road—two little 7-pound, 2-month-old black Lab puppies, who didn’t know where to turn. But we’re safe now—the awful things that might have happened didn’t—and judging by the oohs and aahs from volunteers and visitors, we’re even popular! Of course, we’re still very young. Since you’re reading this, I’m guessing you already know the things that pups like me need to learn. My question is, could you be the one with the time and patience to teach me? I’m a male, a sweetie, who has lessons to learn and lots of fun to share. Maybe you can show me what it is to be loved, and to have a home forever!
