Hi… my name is Dudley,

Adopted 12-14-16

My former owner could no longer care for my basic needs, so now I have a chance at a new home, where the basics and maybe even more will be given. There were 3 other dogs and 3 horses at my former place; they said I got along with other animals and the kids (ages 7 and 13). But I lived outdoors there, so you can imagine how much I’m enjoying indoor time—safe, dry and comfy! And the regular company of people is great. They seem to like me, too—especially my composed, mature manner. I’m a 3-year-old black Lab mix male, and under my calm demeanor, I’m yearning to be somebody’s best buddy. Could it be you? Let’s get together and see if we have a meeting of the minds—and the hearts!

Hi… my name is Colleen,

Adopted 12-3-16

Since I was found outside a local real estate office, my TALGV buddies tease me that I was trying to find a home on my own. In a sense, that’s true! But when they mention rent or down payment, well, I’m happy to switch to dog talk. For instance, am I a dog who likes to play? Oh yes!   Am I lively, affectionate, and interested in the world around me—especially people? You bet! And most important: Do I have the makings of a lifelong loyal companion who’ll stick by you during the good and hard times? Absolutely; just look in my eyes and you’ll see that I do. I’m a 1-year-old female, a beautiful black and white Lab mix, who offers a constant heartbeat of love for you when you take me home.

Hi… my name is Sonora,

Adopted 1-26-17

I once lived in a group of dogs who’d been abandoned on some foreclosed property. When rescued, I was just 10 months old and had been in that place my whole life! Now I’m here and my days are a lot more fun. Plus, my dog pals are helping me get over my shyness with people, and even though human kindness is new to me, I now know that people can be wonderful! They give great tummy rubs, ear scratches, and take me for walks. I’m best with grown-up people only; no children, please. I don’t really understand little ones, but, fortunately, adults seem to love me. I’m a young Lab mix female, black with touches of white, about 45 pounds, and my fondest dream is to share a bright, happy future with you!

Hi… my name is Pecan,

Adopted 11-17-16

I was found—well, looking at my name you can guess—in the pecan groves! We don’t know how an adorable guy like me became lost there, but we’re glad to move on to the good news: I was rescued! I’m a 4-month-old Lab mix male, tan and white and handsome as can be. My foster mom thinks the world and all of me; she says I appear to be housebroken (no accidents in her home), sleep quietly in my kennel all night, love people (will follow you everywhere), and love other dogs, big and small. She’s helping me learn what “no” means, and says that with training, I’m going to make a wonderful big guy! My two cents: I love to play! So how about we go home and have fun together!

Hi… my name is Randy,

Adopted 12-31-16

If the dictionary had the term “friendly dog,” my picture should be there! I was found because I just ran up to a guy and let him know I was lost. Oh sure, I was shy when I first came here; you can’t know what you’ve gotten yourself into when your new friends speak Dog Trainer (they love pronouncing “sit,” especially when I, well, sit). Also, I didn’t recall being on a leash before, but you know what? I’m getting better at leash walking every day, and that’s because there’s one thing I know for sure: Pleasing my person makes us both happy! I’m a lively 18-month-old black Lab male with a big heart, and I’d love to meet you, the sooner the better, because I say life’s for living with someone you love!

Hi… my name is Harper,

Adopted 12-29-16

One day a woman looked up and there was a black Lab puppy in her garden! It was me, happy to be in a safe, friendly place. The people there were very kind to me, but as much as we liked each other—I even got along with their cat—it just wasn’t the right time for a dog in their lives. So now I’m here, looking for love on a permanent basis. Of course, I’m mainly interested in you, but the volunteers say I should tell you about me, so here goes: I’m about 8 months old, 48 pounds, a sweet, playful guy, always eager to please. I even like training time! Plus walks, car rides, and—most of all—being the loyal, good-natured dog my person deserves. Could that person be you?

Hi… my name is Sammy,

Adopted with Suki 11-7-16

My best friend, Suki, and I were left without a home when our person moved away. Thank goodness, we have each other, and who knows? Could be the best is yet to come for us! Granted, we’re not spring chickens, but being mature can be a very good thing. I’m a 9-year-old Lab/Shar-Pei mix male, 79 pounds, with a tan and white coat. I’ve lots of loves in life—according to my former family, I love kids, cats, cuddling, playing with Suki, and, yes, people—I’m an affectionate guy. They said I was gentle with the kids (all ages visited) and got along with cats, horses and mules (the mules had no comment). Suki and I would like to stay together and if that’s okay in your home, we’ll double the love for you.

Hi… my name is Blondie,

Adopted October 12, 2016

I had puppies not too long ago, so I know about that big responsibility—making sure everyone is present and accounted for, fed and protected. But now that my pups are growing and moving on to their own homes, I can relax a bit and enjoy a little extra attention for me, too! I’d almost forgotten how nice it is to have someone pet your head, take you for a walk in the sunshine, and talk kindly. Some of that kind talk is complimentary about my big brown eyes and soft blonde coat, but mainly I just love the company. I have my figure back, now just 34 pounds—a nice size for many different households—so how about we meet today and see if we’re a nice fit into each other’s hearts, too.
