Hi… my name is Sunny (aka Callie),

Adopted 7-9-18

“Single and loving it!” Let’s say that’s my new motto. Things had been happy at home for about four years, and then something changed. None of us know exactly why, but I no longer got along with the other dogs. We parted with real sadness, but it seemed best for all concerned. My former people called me “a great dog,” usually well behaved, and listed commands I know: sit, stay, down, shake, come. No surprise, I’m an “excellent retriever”—love playing with my toy ball. I’m also leash trained, love car rides, and although not crazy about water, I’m okay having a bath. They recommended I be an only dog (see my new motto) and I’m yearning for big-hearted people to love. A yellow Lab female, 4-1/2 years old, I’m ready to be all yours.

Astro is a full bred white lab who needed a new home as owners no longer had time to share with him and his sister, Bella. Lucky for them they were adopted the day they became available by someone who happened to be looking for dogs just like them.

Hi… my name is Pluto,

Adopted 1-5-18

When I arrived here, I just sat by myself, sad and lonely. Then, after a few days, I realized things might be okay for me. I started going for walks, playing “find it” for treats (love that game!), and making new friends. As a rule, I’m cautious with new people (might growl when they approach); but my former family reported that I could be “loving with people I know.” For fun, I enjoy nice long walks and playing fetch, plus I’m good in the car and housetrained. I’m a smart 2-year-old black Lab mix male, 90+ pounds (did I mention the treat game?), and once we get to know each other, I’m a good and loving companion. My suggestion? We should get acquainted real soon because we could be happy together for a long time!

Hi… my name is Drake,

Adopted 4-5-17

Drake has FREE Vet Care for Life

I’ll be a gracious gentleman and simply say that I became a TALGV dog because my owner forgot to pick me up. (The word “abandoned” is so hurtful that I’ve chosen to forget it.) So, I’ve been waiting a while, but now my future looks great—the chance for a happy, comfy, loving home with my wonderful new someone. Who could ask for more? Oh, I should explain that if you notice my chronic limp, that’s due to a past injury to one of my legs. Of course, I still hope you choose me for my charm and good looks, but there’s also this practical reassurance: I’m 10 years old, so I come with FREE vet care for life! I’m a blonde Labrador Retriever male. Could you be the one I’m watching for?

Hi… my name is Angel,

Adopted September 24, 2016

Here at TALGV, my roommate has been my mom, Blondie, and that’s been so cool for me. I’m just 5 months old and still little—about 17 pounds (and growing), so being with mom has been very reassuring. Plus, she teaches by example. If you come visit, you’ll see that I already know a lot about eating, drinking, playing, napping, and trotting out in the sunshine to watch the world go by. The volunteers say I’m very cute and smart, too, making great progress on leash training, but I think my strong suit is something I’ve always known—how to love. I’ve loved my mom, my siblings, and chances are very good that I’ll love you, too. So what do you say? Could I be your adorable puppy today and your devoted companion forever?

Hi… my name is Boots,

Adopted December 14, 2015

Boots comes with FREE Vet Care for Life.

Just because there’s a little grey on my face, doesn’t mean there isn’t still a lot of spring in my step! After my dad died, I was at sixes and sevens ‘cause we were together all our lives, but now that I’m here, I’m showing everyone how much I adore affection. They say I’m especially enamored of belly rubs and behind the ear massages, and I love demonstrating my mastery of “sit” and “down” commands. I walk nicely on leash, but since I’m not overly fond of other dogs, I do tend to pull a bit when encountering them (they think I’m just being protective of my “person”). I’m a senior Lab mix lady (so I come with Free Vet Care for Life), who is definitely ready to be back in a home setting!

Arrived February 2, 2015.

Hi… my name is Ranger.

Adopted October 22, 2014.

One look at me and you’ll agree that I’m the classic “happy face” guy! It’s clear that I had a home in the not-too-distant past, as I’m as friendly and outgoing (and kid loving) as can be. I was seen wandering in a Rancho Sahuarita neighborhood for several days before a kind man brought me here in hopes that someone would reclaim me. I was wearing a blue collar, so that was even more encouraging, but I wasn’t microchipped and had no tag, so I guess it’s been long enough now that I can start my search for a new, active home. I’m a 62-pound black Lab gentleman, who is outgoing, gentle (in that inimitable Lab way!), and promise to be the perfect addition to any active home.

Arrived September 18, 2014.
