Hi… my name is Snoop,

Adopted 12-1-19

Before coming here, my life changed and even became kind of scary! My former people moved away and left me alone in the yard with my canine buddy, King. (King and I are probably related and are definitely friends.) Fortunately, the TALGV volunteers have given me time to realize that they are going to feed us, take care of us, and show us how much fun people can be. (I gladly learned the regular food thing right away, and the fun part came quickly, too.) I’m a Shepherd mix male; new friends tell me I’m quite handsome, and although I don’t notice it much, they seem to especially like my curly tail. As a young, very friendly, easy-going guy in medium-size package, I’d love to be your happy, active, loyal best pal.

Hi… my name is King,

Before coming here, my life changed and even became kind of scary! My former people moved away and left me alone in the yard with my canine buddy, Snoop. (Snoop and I are probably related and are definitely friends.) Fortunately, the TALGV volunteers have patiently let me figure out that they’re going to feed us, take care of us, and show us how much fun people can be. I’m learning how to trust people and to love being safe and cared about. I’m a handsome Shepherd mix male, a kind of stocky build at around 50 pounds, and although I like to relax, my ears are always in the alert position—you might think “radar ears!”  Going for walks and training is fun, but most of all, I want to be your pal.

Hi… my name is Rosita,

Adopted 11-18-19

If you’re looking for a medium size female dog who is happy-go-lucky, gentle with children, good with other dogs, loves people, is housetrained and crate trained, that’s me! For this first year of my life I was raised and loved by a family with 3 children and an older dog. I’m grateful for the life I had with them, but something changed, and they felt I deserved more time than they could give me. My former dad described me as playful, energetic, and loving. How would you like to share your life and time with a companion who’s full of the joy of living?

Hi… my name is Duke (aka Scooby),

Adopted 12-3-19

Duke has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

“One awesome dog” is how I was described by my former people, but with a growing family, there was less space and less time for me. That’s OK; I know I’m a large athletic guy with a big personality to match. I earned my Canine Good Citizen certificate before I was 3, but a little reinforcement on that would be a great way for us to get to know each other. Folks here say I am strong, but I walk well on leash with a little correction. I am very eager to please and will come when you call me. I am very energetic, playful and extra eager to be somebody’s best pal. If I get lonely, I can jump a fence, but will do well in your active life, where my best friends are at home!

Hi… my name is Bilbo (aka Buck),

Adopted 10-29-19

Note: Bio needs revision.

When I was found on Sahuarita Road across from Fry’s, it was evident I’d been on my own for a while. My coat was matted, severely so on my tail—being brushed by the volunteers here has been heavenly! Also, I needed some medical care and lots of just plain attention—that kindness that lets you know you’re not alone anymore. Very shy and quiet at first, being with people is restoring my confidence. Oh, I’m still an easy-going guy—a “gentle soul” my friends call me—and I was very well behaved at a recent community event. And now I’m starting to dream of a home, and, best of all, someone to share it with. A medium-sized, Spaniel/Corgi mix male, I’ll do my best to fit comfortably into your life and your heart.

Hi… my name is Danny,

Adopted 10-30-19

I’m a friendly little guy who would like to cuddle with you. I get along with everyone: children, adults and other dogs. When my person got sick, she asked TALGV to find me a good home because, she said, I have always been a good dog. I told her when I had to go potty, was good when left alone in the house, and I only bark when I’m really excited. I also know some commands, like sit, and although I’m eight years old, I can and want to learn new tricks. After all, I am part poodle, and we are very smart dogs! Please come to visit me soon.

Adopted 10-29-19

BELLA is an affectionate, social, and smart 6-year-old, 40-pound, Border Collie mix female whose family is moving to Assisted Living and are unable to take her. She is crate trained and house trained (asks to go out). She responds well to “sit,” “stay,” “come,” “off,” “wait” and other commands; she has had snake avoidance training. Bella loves to play with her stuffed toys, but she needs more exercise and would benefit from more leash training; she would do best with a strong handler. Since she likes to jump, Bella needs a yard fence of seven feet. She is in good health, spayed, up to date on shots, and medical records are available. She has gotten along with children but other dogs are not her friends; cats are unknown. She is slow to warm up to strangers, but once introduced she will behave as commanded. Bella is a loving and loyal companion who prefers to share your bed.

There is no adoption fee. If you will welcome Bella into a loving home as part of your family, please call Claudia between 10 AM and 9 PM at 586-214-3164.

Hi… my name is Roger,

Adopted 10-28-19

Love to go out and play? So do I! Why don’t we do it together? You could throw a ball or a toy, and I will bring it back to you. (And then play keep-away: ha ha ha!) I love life and I love people and other dogs. I walk so well on a leash, I got to walk in a parade with one of the volunteers here! I also know sit, and I would like to learn many more commands. They say, I am smart and sweet. When you pet me, I reward you with kisses and if I really like you, I will whisper something in your ear! If you come to visit me, I can show you, and may be then we can go home together forever!
