Hi… my name is Opal,

Adopted 12-20-23

I’m an almost 2-year-old, Staffie mix female. I’m a little timid and shy with people until I get to know them, then you’ll see what an affectionate girl I am. My roommate was happy when I returned after being in foster care. While there I slept in my crate at night (and when needed) and I asked to go out, but occasionally needed reminding. I know how to “sit,” and I walk fairly well. I’ll need someone to teach me the rest of the commands and work on my leash training. I was wondering, would YOU be interested? On a personal note, I’m still young and might benefit from additional “puppy training.” I enjoy playing fetch, chasing lizards, and snuggling on the couch with my person. Want to snuggle?

Codi is a happy, energetic, and social 6-year-old, 8-pound, ShihPoo male that needs a new home. He is crate trained, leash trained, house trained (asks to go out), and obedience trained (sit, down, shake hands and come). He is in good health (teeth have been cleaned recently), is neutered and up to date on shots; his medical records are available. Codi gets along with other dogs but not with cats, is best with adults but may be okay with older children. He loves to sit on your lap or just hang out with his people. There is no adoption fee. If you will welcome Codi into a loving home as part of your family, please call Vickie after 8 a.m. at 520-390-6226.

Hi… my name is Tonka,

Adopted 4-16-23

The caring human who found me wandering between Walmart and Old Nogales Highway brought me here, where I’m safe and can find my forever home. Two things TALGV volunteers noticed about me right away: I’m a sweet, friendly guy, and I like people! In my calm and easygoing way, I light up when a friend comes to see me. And when you say “sit,” “come,” or “down,” I know what to do.  “Stay” is a little harder because when you walk away, I want to come with you, but I’m learning.  I’m a one-year-old male with beautiful blue eyes, a copper coat, and a loving, gentle nature. People here call me a young guy with lots of potential. If you think we could be the best of friends, I’m hoping you’ll call me yours.

Doc

Hi… my name is Doc,

Adopted with Stewie 7-1-23

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

My buddy Stewie and I have shared lots of good times together, but recently we were sad because our person passed away. Fortunately, we could come here to find our new home. I’m a Lab mix male, that comes with Vet Care Support for Life. In my world, your attention and affection are even better than treats!  Stewie and I have been good when home alone, let it be known when it was time to go outside, and we’re leash-trained, although I need someone as strong as me on the other end. My favorite thing?  Cuddling with my person. Stewie and I need to be adopted together as only pets. If you agree that life is best when shared, we’d love to be yours.

Tom

Hi… my name is Tom,

Adopted 4-10-23

Running through pecan trees with my buddies was fun at first. Until we got hungry, thirsty, and our matted, overgrown coats couldn’t keep us warm at night. Then a kind woman entered our lives, picked us up and brought us here, where I’m loving the comforts—regular food, a soft bed, friendly people, and even my spiffy new haircut. I was very shy at my first medical exam, leery about being picked up, but plucked up my courage and tolerated it well.  No doubt I need some training, being on a leash is new to me, but I’m so willing to try. At just about 12-1/2 pounds, I wouldn’t take up much room in your house, but maybe a big place in your heart.  And you in mine. Can we meet and find out?

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Then a kind woman entered our lives, picked us up and brought us here, where I’m loving the comforts—regular food, a soft bed, friendly people, and even my spiffy new haircut. Medical staff said I was shy at my intake but did very well overall. I’m also discovering there are things I need to learn, including how to walk on a leash, and the volunteers here are helping me. I’m a 2-year-old male, and at just about 14-1/2 pounds I wouldn’t take up much room in your house, but maybe a big place in your heart. And you in mine. Can we meet and find out?

Running through pecan trees with my buddies was fun at first. Until we got hungry, thirsty, and our matted, overgrown coats couldn’t keep us warm at night. Then a kind woman entered our lives, picked us up and brought us here, where I’m loving the comforts—regular food, a soft bed, friendly people, and even my spiffy new haircut. I’m happy to say I was described as “cooperative and settled” on my initial medical exam, but I’m discovering there are things I need to learn, including how to walk on a leash, and the volunteers are helping me. I’m a 4-year-old male, and at just 9 pounds I wouldn’t take up much room in your house, but maybe a big place in your heart. And you in mine. Can we meet and find out?

Hi… my name is Fig Newton,

Adopted 10-30-24

My friends call me “Figgy,” and I’d love for you to, also. I might be a bit shy at first, but give me a little time and I’ll reveal my smart, obedient, and super fun side. I’m a Star Student of TALGV’s training program and know a bunch of commands which I’ll happily show you. Bonus! I have great leash manners to boot! My manners are so impressive, that you’d never guess I was rescued from the desert as a 6-month-old pup. Do you have another dog? Awesome! I’ve had lots of doggie pals and roommates. If you have a secure yard, we can play Fetch—I’d definitely win a gold medal if Fetch were an Olympic sport! You’ll be the real winner when you add my smart, loving, handsome self to your family!  (7-2024)
