Hi… my name is Wrinkles,

Adopted 8-12-23

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

My story recently took an exciting turn, one I’m hoping is headed toward a happily ever after. I was living with other dogs and cats when, abruptly, our person had to leave. We were on our own. For weeks, we survived living outside only with the help of community volunteers. And then, one wonderful day, I moved here. Suddenly I was in cool comfort, with plenty of food, and enjoying the company of patient, helpful people. They let me get acquainted at my own pace, which was great because I’m a combination of shy and friendly, with my very own kind of sweetness. I’m a big guy (80+ pounds), all grown-up (8-1/2 years old) and probably a Lab/Shar-Pei mix (the “wrinkles”). Let’s meet and see if we can make a happy new story together!

Hi… my name is Lola Belle,

Adopted 8-19-22

They added “Belle” to my name because that is what I am: a pretty, sweet, medium sized dog with a beautiful, all-black coat. A nice lady took me in when my owners did not have time for me. Despite my age, she said I was good while in her house but that I need some help with potty training. She had other dogs and they showed me that life can be quite different from what I was used to. Even now I am most comfortable when I have a doggy companion who is confident around people. It helps me to come out of my shell to enjoy getting treats and being petted. Do you have a dog who could use some company and be my mentor? Then look no further and come to see me!

Hi… my name is Mollie,

Adopted with Dollie 3-10-22

My sister Dollie and I are two adorable, fun-loving, and playful puppies. When we were outside all alone, a nice person took us in and cared for us for a few weeks. She taught us to tell her when we had to go potty and how to be good when left alone. We got along well with her children and even with her kitties. But the older dog who lived there didn’t care for us, so she had to bring us to TALGV. The volunteers say that we are really sweet, walk well on leashes for pups so young, and that we like everyone, showing our affection with lots of doggie kisses. Now we are looking for our forever home and if we could stay together, that would be totally awesome!

Hi… my name is Bear,

Adopted with Henry 1-30-21

I recently came to TALGV with my buddy, Henry. Our people said they didn’t have enough time to give us all the attention we deserve. I’m a male,  7-year-old Lab/Shar Pei mix. I’m housebroken, ask to go out or I can use a doggie door. I’m leash trained and know the commands “sit” and “come.” I’m alright around cats and play well with other dogs. I really love children of all ages and I’ve earned the title “babysitter” because I followed the 2-year-old around and checked out new people when they approached. My former dad said we make the perfect family members. Henry and I are bonded and would really prefer to be adopted together. Please make one appointment and go home with two new family members with twice the love.

Hi… my name is Sonya,

Adopted 10-7-20

I was found, along with my daughter, Morgan, roaming     around a local neighborhood. I must admit, living rough was really hard for two gentle girls like us. Morgan was even attacked by a cactus. Then we were both rescued. When I   first arrived at TALGV, I became the center of attention. I  guess my short Basset body and my Shar Pei face pulled on   the volunteers’ heartstrings. Naturally, I was lapping it up and spreading my attention and affection around. I know how to use the doggie door and I enjoy going for walks. I’m always happy to greet everyone who comes to visit. Just think, with just one phone call, you too could visit and your visit could very well become my forever home. See you soon!

Hi… my name is Morgan,

Adopted 10-9-20

A cactus is not my friend. I learned this lesson the hard way, while exploring a desert area with my mother, Sonya. When we were rescued, my first stop was a visit to the vet’s for cactus removal. After that uncomfortable experience we were re-united at TALGV, where I felt loved. I’m a friendly, fun-loving, gal that seems to like everyone. A quick bark or two to get your attention and I will roll over on my back so you can give me a belly rub. I can use the doggie door and I enjoy a walk with the volunteers. Please call for a visit so you can take in the whole package that is ME. You would be surprised how quickly these short little legs can carry me to YOU.

Fry

Hi… my name is Fry,

Adopted 11-21-20

My friend, Loco, and I arrived at TALGV shortly after our Mom passed away. Now we’re in foster and my foster mom thinks I’m simply adorable. I’m a very affectionate and energetic girl who loves to run around and be chased. I’m house-trained and can be left for hours inside with no issues. I love to go on walks and car rides. I’ve been good with small dogs but need an introduction to any new dog. I love children, maybe too much, since I get very excited and may try to jump on them. Although Loco and I have been great friends, we are ready now to be separately adopted for our forever homes. Please call to arrange a visit.

Hi… my name is Spencer,

Adopted 7-1-20

Have you ever longed to be accepted and loved for who you really are? I’ve been living at TALGV for almost 3 years and still hope for the day when someone special comes, really sees me, and says, “Spencer, you’re coming home!” People walk by my door, give me a glance, see a black dog with a graying muzzle, and pass me by. What they don’t see is that I know my commands and have good house manners, am friendly and give big kisses. I love walks, car rides, playing “find the treat,” learning new commands, and taking a nap. I do, however, have a problem I just can’t seem to shake. Do you? Mine is aversion to other dogs. I will treasure the person who is willing to shield me, adopt me as their only dog, and love me as I am.

Hi… my name is Pumpkin (aka Wednesday),

Adopted 2-22-20

When I arrived, my name was Wednesday, but I was so scared, I didn’t know my name from any other day of the week. The kind people here gave me a friendlier name – Pumpkin. I was injured by a new dog who came to live with my family. We had to be separated. She stayed. I came here. I used to have a big doggy “brother” who gave me confidence. It takes me a while to trust people, but when I do, I’m gentle and very loving. I’ve learned to enjoy walking on leash, especially with a male dog buddy. I’m also learning not to be afraid of going indoors. The volunteers have learned something from me: I’m highly motivated by chicken (the food, not the birds)! With time, patience, and preferably another “brother,” I’ll be a beloved addition to your family.
