Hi… my name is Bubba (aka Marmaduke),

Adopted 1-14-18

Bubba has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate.

Here at TALGV, I’ve been dubbed “The Poster Boy for Big Dogs!” That’s because I’m so well behaved and fun at community events—friendly, responsive, calm amid the excitement, walk well in my harness and ride well in the car. All 90 pounds of me! At home, my former people said, I was housebroken, cuddly, obedient, and got along with their cat. I do guard food and toys from other dogs and even cats, so please be aware of that. But I’m very people friendly, always delighted to see my human friends, and as further proof of my excellent manners, I’ve earned my AKC Canine Good Citizen certificate. So that’s me, a big guy trying his best to be loveable, so that maybe you’ll say the happiest thing ever—that I can be yours!

Hi… my name is Rupert,

Adopted 8-25-17

Some people think I have a distinguished look and manner, as though I have wise thoughts to share. Others tell me I’m just plain adorable to look at and to know. I say, happily, both can be true! When I was found lying on the side of Helmet Peak Road, my finder knew only that I was a lost dog and she very kindly rescued me. Here at TALGV, the volunteers have gotten to know me and they’re now my friends—complimenting me for being sweet, friendly, and great company. I’m a tan Shar-Pei mix male, about 5 years old, 79 pounds, generally calm and easygoing, with one very special dream: A forever home where I’ll always be loved. Imagine how devoted I’ll be if you’re the one to make my dream come true.

Hi… my name is Snookie,

Adopted 5-8-17

You could say my daughter, Pookie, and I arrived here via a winding road. Along the way, there was a divorce, a move, and a friend who couldn’t keep us. Fortunately, we’re both calm and easy-going; we took these changes in our stride. I’m 5 years old, a compact medium size at 50 pounds, with a tan coat and the remarkable Shar Pei wrinkles and adorable face. (Pookie and I’ve literally stopped traffic here at TALGV because people wanted to see us up close, and you want to know a secret: I kinda love that!) I’m friendly, good on a leash, and happy to be absolutely loyal to the person who loves me back. If that could be you, let’s meet soon because if you think I’m special, I think you’re even more so!

Hi… my name is Pookie,

You could say my mom, Snookie, and I arrived here via a winding road. Along the way, there was a divorce, a move, and a friend who couldn’t keep us. Fortunately, we’re both calm and easy-going; we took these changes in our stride. I’m 2-1/2 years old, a compact medium size at 45 pounds, with a chocolate brown coat and the remarkable Shar Pei wrinkles and adorable face. (Mom and I’ve literally stopped traffic here at TALGV because people wanted to see us up close, and you want to know a secret: I kinda love that!) I’m friendly, good on a leash, and have inherited my mother’s sweet disposition. If you think I’m special, I think you’re even more so, and will be happy being your loyal companion for a long time to come!

Hi… my name is Mambo,

Adopted 2-20-17

My siblings and I are at TALGV because we were in a place where there were too many dogs, so we’re loving everyone who makes us feel welcome here. Now we’re having a world of fun playing puppy games, receiving lots of puppy love, and doing goofy puppy things like falling all over ourselves. Some people even want to take one of us home, which is the most exciting thing ever in our little lives! I’m one of the boys, white with brown circles, arriving at 12.6 pounds and growing! Of course, I’ve lots to learn, so I need a home where there’s an abundance of time, patience, and love. In return, I’ll look up to you, try to make you laugh every day, and love you forever. Am I the one for you?

Hi… my name is Merengue,

Adopted 2-19-17

My siblings and I were in a place where there were too many dogs, so we’re loving everyone who’s making us feel welcome here—a great spot for having a world of fun playing puppy games, receiving lots of puppy love, and doing goofy puppy things like falling all over ourselves. Some people even want to take one of us home, which is the most exciting thing ever in our little lives! I’m one of the girls, a beauty with a soft tan coat, 9.2 pounds on arrival and growing! Of course, I’ve lots to learn, so I need a home where there’s an abundance of time, patience, and love. In return, I’ll look up to you, try to make you laugh every day, and love you forever. Hi… my name is Watts,

Adopted 2-13-17

I’m such an optimistic, happy-go-lucky guy, I’ll even say that being a stray worked out okay for me. It was not a bowl of cherries—no home, family, or regular meals—but, lucky me, someone wonderful came to my rescue. They said I liked their kids (ages 9-12), but “no chickens!” Asked about my strengths, they said I was “smart, kind, dedicated to family,” with a “good attitude.” To those great qualities you can add that I know “sit” and played Frisbee with my finders! Of course, your opinion matters most, so I’d love to meet you. I’m an 18-month-old Shar Pei mix male, black and tan. My finders noticed a couple of scars, but my heart is still super friendly and I’d love to give it to you forever. Can we meet today?

Hi… my name is O’Riley (aka Riley),

Adopted 1-8-17

O’Riley comes with FREE Vet Care for Life.

I’ve been blessed to know that love between a person and a dog is a lasting thing. Before her recent passing, my person and I were together for 11 years, which was just plain wonderful for both of us. Her good friend saw how loyal I was to her and noted I’ve been good with someone who has physical challenges. People seem to appreciate my other qualities, too; I “ask” to go outside; I’m good in the house alone; leash trained; understand “sit,” “stay,” and “come;” and will “move” backwards for a treat! Plus, as an 11-year-old male, (71 pounds), I come with Free Vet Care for Life! Please come visit me soon, and you might find that the best part of me—my big, gentle, loving heart—is a perfect match with yours.
