My best friend, Suki, and I were left without a home when our person moved away. Thank goodness, we have each other, and who knows? Could be the best is yet to come for us! Granted, we’re not spring chickens, but being mature can be a very good thing. I’m a 9-year-old Lab/Shar-Pei mix male, 79 pounds, with a tan and white coat. I’ve lots of loves in life—according to my former family, I love kids, cats, cuddling, playing with Suki, and, yes, people—I’m an affectionate guy. They said I was gentle with the kids (all ages visited) and got along with cats, horses and mules (the mules had no comment). Suki and I would like to stay together and if that’s okay in your home, we’ll double the love for you.

When I was lost, I found some fun kids who let me hang out with them. I followed them around their neighborhood until I met their mom, who was real nice to me. When she couldn’t find my owners, she brought me here, and I was adopted pretty quickly. Unfortunately, it turned out that wasn’t a perfect fit and so I’m back, putting my best paw forward in the hope that someone wonderful will notice me. People say I’m strikingly handsome—a tan and white Shar-Pei mix male, about 42 pounds and just 15 months old—but I especially like it when they say what a great dog I am, friendly, attentive and smart. If that sounds good to you, let me show you it’s true. Who knows? We could be best buddies forever!

You could say my middle name is “loyalty,” because that’s my strong suit. Indeed, when asked about my good qualities, the first thing my person said was that I’m “very loyal.” He was loyal to me, too; when he lost his job and couldn’t take care of me anymore—although sad to let me go after our 4 years together—he brought me here for the chance at a new home. He said I got along with his cat, but didn’t care for men (although my person is a man). I’m currently in foster care, so please call ahead and we’ll set up a date to meet. HONEY is an outgoing, social, and sweet 3-month-old, 24-pound Shar Pei mix who was rescued about three months ago by owner who has several pets already. Honey is okay on leash and is working on potty training. She is a healthy girl who is up to date on shots and has certificate for free spay courtesy of TALGV. I used to live where there were just too many dogs in one place. Now, I’m comfy at TALGV and grateful for the great care, but still dreaming of a home of my own. The best part of the dream is a person or family, someone I’ll share every day with—probably someone like you. I’ll do my part in our happy home, being the good dog who knows good behavior, and also a quick learner ready to learn lots more. I’m great on a leash and love the big outdoors, so walks will be fun for us, too. Best of all, I’ll build my world around you, making it my job to please you every day. My sister, Lisa, and I appeared one day in the yard of a home in Sahuarita Heights and stayed around to play with the resident Shih Tzu and the tribe of kids who lived there. The owners fed us outside while they tried to find our owner, but when that didn’t happen after two weeks, decided that we needed more “exposure” to potential adopters so we could find new homes. They said that we were beautiful, playful, happy youngsters who need a good-sized yard and lots of attention, play time, and someone with “puppy-patience.” They’re calling us Whippet mixes, but we have “Shar-Pei-like” ears, so who knows? I’m just a happy amalgam of something! All you need to know is that I’m cute, sweet, and, best of all, (since Lisa has been adopted) I am still available!

SHELBY is a cute 3-month-old female Shar Pei X who needs a new loving home. Foster has many dogs and believes Shelby would do better with a family who can spend more time with her. Shelby is a typical puppy who is social with everyone and loves to play. Shelby uses the doggy door and is leash trained. She is okay with other dogs, cats and kids. Shelby has had recent shots and has a certificate from TALGV for free spay.
