Hi… my name is Brownie,

Adopted 11-3-23

When I was younger, I didn’t meet many people. Then I had to live by myself for a while. Food was pretty scarce out there and eventually a nice person caught me and brought me to TALGV. Not having to worry about where my next meal is coming from sure is nice! I am still learning to trust people, even some of the volunteers I see here every week. But I do like being (and playing) with other dogs, and if I see my buddy with a person, I am more willing to check them out myself. That is why my trainers say that I would do better in a home with another dog who can show me the ropes. Oh, and they also say that I am smart and a fast learner! Please come and see if we can be pals.

Hi… my name is Surprise,

Adopted 1-21-23

When I first arrived at The Animal League, the volunteers could see how very scared and shy I was. I’m still somewhat anxious, but I’ve made noticeable progress. Just ask my friends and they’ll tell you that once I’m comfortable with you, I’m “super sweet” and loving. Small people, I think they’re called children, still make me uncomfortable, but my previous opinion about leashes has changed… they’re no longer an issue! I discovered, while wearing them on my walks, how much fun and adventure was waiting for me… maybe even future visits to the TALGV play yard. Speaking of visits, why don’t you visit me? I’ll be more than happy to meet someone who’ll love me unconditionally! Please remember there are always pleasant surprises waiting just around the corner. Guess who’s waiting for you! Me… SURPRISE!!!

Boo

Hi… my name is Boo (aka Spice),

Adopted 7-24-22

Unfortunately, I’ve returned to TALGV, but I’ve come bearing good reports from my previous owner. I’m a loving, gentle, and exuberant female Shepherd mix, who recently  shared a home with two other dogs, a cat, and visits from a 5-year-old child. I’m crate trained, ask to go out, and can use a doggie door. I know several commands such as “sit,” “lie down,” and “leave it,” etc. I’m good on a leash and enjoy car rides, playing fetch, and working puzzles. Sometimes I get excited and jump up but settle down upon command. Like most pups I don’t like being left alone too long. In my opinion, I think I could fit quite nicely into the average home. Do you have an average home? I’m packed and ready to go!

Hi… my name is Lucy (aka Sam),

Adopted by previous owner 6-1-22

I wouldn’t say I’m perfect, because what dog is, but I do have a few outstanding points in my favor. I’m a female Lab/Shepherd mix who has good house manners, asks to go out, walks well on a leash, and is “mostly” obedient. At night    I’ll happily go to bed in my crate, and I don’t bark excessively, (personally, I don’t appreciate loud noises). I enjoy playing with my toys and a good game of catch and retrieve. I’m a very vocal gal when I’m playing, and whenever I want to express my opinions about life in general. One important fact: You should know that I don’t like dog parks, and I need to be your only pet. Once I get settled in our home, I’ll gladly show you my loving appreciation.
