Adopted 5-16-20

Penny is an active, social 9-month-old, 40-pound Bassett/Shepherd mix female who needs a new home. She is crate trained, leash trained, and has some obedience training (knows “sit,” “down,” and “fetch”). She asks to go out and uses doggy door but is still working on potty training. She is in good health, spayed, up to date on shots and medical records are available. Penny gets along with other dogs and older children; cats are unknown. She loves water, chewing on bones, cuddling, and to fetch.

There is no adoption fee for this sweet girl.

If you will welcome Penny into a loving home as part of your family, please call Andrea between 10 AM and 7 PM at 520-307-9481.

Hi… my name is Nalla (aka Prickly Pear),

Adopted 3-20-20

Wouldn’t you love a beautiful girl with an almost golden palomino colored coat, big ears, and gorgeous eyes? My owner did until her health situation changed and I had to come back to TALGV with my brother, Ryder. I’m a laid back young lady who lays around with my feet daintily crossed…I’m moderately active. I’m fairly relaxed in this new place, and I don’t bark very much. I’m just curious about the world around me. They say I’m skittish and anxious, but I think maybe I’m just lacking confidence. Having another confident dog around would help me face things in life that I have not been exposed to. I would love to have a furever home, probably with a companion, where I can learn all the fun parts about being a family. Won’t you come and meet me?

Hi… my name is Sadie,

Adopted 2-28-20

I was brought to TALGV by a neighbor who discovered I’d been abandoned in my yard after my “Dad” left. I’m learning to trust again. I’m a 3-year-old medium-size female Shepherd mix who will warm up to you after a quiet, calm introduction. If you look me straight in the eye at first or talk loud, I’ll bark and growl to make you go away. But when I feel safe, I’ll bring you my toy and sit in your lap, happy to make friends. I’m learning to walk on leash and generally don’t bark at other dogs. People say it’s hard not to stare at me because I’m “stunning.” Once you take me home, you can look at me all you want, and I’ll smile back at you with all the love in my heart.

Hi… my name is Twilight,

Adopted with Midnight 5-21-20

My sister, Midnight, and I were brought here by relatives after our “Mom” passed away. They couldn’t keep us, but TALGV was the best place they could think of. I’m a 7 ½-year-old female Lab/Shepherd mix that is gentle and docile but also quite shy. It takes us both a while to warm up to strangers. After spending time with other animals and four children ages 2-8 years old and then coming here, we’re learning how to adjust to new surroundings. With the patient volunteers here and all the attention we get, I believe we are making progress. Naturally visitors are welcome. Please consider taking a look; you might like what you see.

Hi… my name is Midnight,

Adopted with Twilight 5-21-20

My sister, Twilight, and I were staying with relatives after our “Mom” passed away. Sadly they couldn’t keep us, so they did the best thing they could and brought us to TALGV. I’m a 7 ½- year-old Lab/ Shepherd mix girl that is docile, gentle and tolerant. When we arrived here it became obvious that we were both shy. It takes us a while to warm up to people. We have been around other animals and four children ages 2-8 years old. The patient volunteers here have been spending time with us to help us come out of our shells. My sister is a little more outgoing than me, but I also love to get attention. I think we are making great progress. Please come and see for yourself.

Hi… my name is Dooby (aka Scooby),

Adopted 2-16-20

Here I am, a spunky, young fellow with a lot of energy. In other words, I’m still a pup. The family I lived with for a short time was unable to care for me and brought me to TALGV. They did say I know how to use a doggy door and walk on a leash. They also they mentioned I’m not into sharing food or toys but, at my age, with some basic obedience training, along with a lot of love and patience, I could learn. I’m a compact little Shepherd mix that is excited to meet new people, and I would appreciate it if you could please come in and meet ME. Who knows, when the introductions are over, maybe we could leave together.

Hi… my name is Kira,

Adopted 4-4-20

I first arrived at TALGV after I was found near Santa Cruz Valley Hospital. A short time later I was adopted and went to live with a family who already had a resident dog, a 14-year-old male. It could be I wanted to get his attention, but by my being a little too pushy, we just didn’t get along. Then I was returned, along with compliments from my previous owner. It was pointed out that I’m very friendly and love to be petted and cuddled. I also love my walks, playing fetch, my chew toys, and of course….treats. I may use the doggie door and can sit, but I obviously need further behavior training to complete my education. If you have the time and patience and you’re looking for love, look no further; I’m here!

Hi… my name is Eva,

Adopted 7-12-20

Has earned her Canine Good Citizen certificate.

My outlook is happy since spending time with Foster Mom, who says that other than my one or two “quirks,” I am “the perfect dog!”  She says I learn new things quickly, including commands, I’m completely housetrained, walk well on a leash, and sleep all night (preferably in her bed).  My crate training is improving; it’s where I eat my meals.  I love being outside, and being close to “Mom;” seldom bark outside and “leave it” when told.  I’m still reactive to some dogs but we’re working on that.  And I really need help learning to be good when home alone.  My ideal person is home most of the time, with a secure place for me when you’re gone.  If you could give me that AND love, I’ll give you much more in return.
