My rescuer said I found her, and that was certainly a lucky find! I walked into her yard weak from hunger and thirst. But things quickly turned around. My new friend gave me food, water, and even took me to a doctor. Then she brought me here (she already has 7 dogs), where I’ve met more wonderful people. A very sweet 14-month-old Shepherd mix female, 30 pounds, I walk well on a leash and sit when you say to (most of the time). I get along with other dogs and like to play, but you know what I love most of all? Your attention. Talk to me, pet me, teach me things—I love it all! So now it’s up to you. It’s tempting to be philosophical about my name. Was I terribly unlucky to have been abandoned with my son, Buddy, and not found until we were malnourished? Or was I lucky to have been found in time? I opt for lucky because we’re here now, where friends will help each of us find a comfy home with caring, loving people. I’ve been shy with strangers, but a gentle, quiet manner wins me over, (treats help, too), and once we’re okay with each other, I love your soft touch under my chin or petting my head. Note: Bio needs update. I was a lost dog, without a human to call my own and that’s just no way to live. It’s dangerous and lonely. So I was very grateful when a wonderful lady took me home, but her landlord does not allow animals, so we had to part ways. I was shy with her and felt the same way here at first, but now I’m meeting lots of people and enjoying the company. Once comfortable, I’m a lively guy and would make a great companion for someone with an active lifestyle. I know “sit,” and will greatly appreciate a patient someone who’ll teach me things a good dog knows. Bentley B

Hi… my name is Bentley B (aka Tim),

I grew up with two other shepherds in outdoor kennels. Then Bailey and I were adopted together, and we learned how wonderful living indoors with people can be! But a human roommate became allergic to us and so we’re back, hoping for one more chance to belong to someone. I still take a little time to warm up to people I don’t know, but once acquainted, my sweet nature shines through; I love attention and will be very loyal to my person. Walks are great—I’m good on a leash, know some commands including sit and come, and was gentle and tolerant with three children in my former home. I’m a handsome 3-1/2-year-old male with a brown, black and white coat, about 71 pounds, and I bet we could be great together forever!
