Animal League News

Hi… my name is Princess.

Adopted July 18, 2015

When my family adopted my sister, Dora, and me right after we were weaned, they had every good intention of making sure that we got the puppy training we needed. Well, they had three young kids (whom we totally adored) and they needed so much attention that that plan quickly fell by the wayside! When one of the kids got sick, they had even less time for us, so here I am at TALGV now, a 9-month-old Shepherd/Husky mix, and starting to learn all “good dog etiquette” things I missed out on. I’m playful, loving and attentive so I’m always on the lookout for human interaction. I got along great with my sister (who was recently adopted), but I absolutely don’t “do” cats at all, so a home where I can get lots of attention from humans will make my life complete!

Hi… my name is Marley.

Adopted September 30, 2015

The man who found me in the Safeway parking lot on Duval Mine Road said that he would have kept me in a minute, but he didn’t have a fenced yard for me to stretch my legs, so decided I’d do better with another family. I got along fine with his kids and the other animals I met, but since I arrived here I’ve been a little shy (but not “fearful” if that makes sense!), and am giving more tail wags and asking for affection with each passing day. The volunteers say I’m curious about toys (I may never have had the opportunity to play with them, who knows?), and they’re certain that I’ll be worth the investment in helping me understand that good things are in store for me with a new family.

Hi… my name is Prince.

Adopted August 15, 2015

When I arrived in late 2014, it was actually a good thing that the Sahuarita police picked me up for “vagrancy” because I was running in the middle of the intersection of Rancho Sahuarita Boulevard and Pima Mine Road, and that’s a pretty dangerous place for a canine! Since I was already neutered, I guess I had belonged to someone at one time. I was adopted in November 2014,  but now I need to find another family to shower my affection on. I’m a magnificent white Siberian husky/shepherd mix with one blue and one brown eye, and I totally adore people. All I ask out of life is attention, an active family, and a place to call my own forever. That’s not too much is it?

Hi… my name is Paco.

Adopted August 15, 2015

When my people moved and couldn’t take me with them, I was pretty disappointed. But now things are looking up! I’ve made lots of new friends here at the Animal League; it’s fun spending time with people I like. I was shy at first, but now they say I’m more like a real-live teddy bear—loveable, can be good company, and very cute in my beautiful red blend coat. I’m a little over 1-year-old and didn’t have much human attention before coming here, so I do need some help in learning good doggie behavior. I’ve already learned how to walk on a leash. I’m a male, Chow/Shepherd mix, and hoping for a new friend who can help me reach by best doggie potential.

Hi… my name is Adam.

There’s new paradigm of enthusiasm in town and it’s me! My sister, Eve, and I followed a woman into her yard and tried our doggone best to convince her to let us stay, but she already had three dogs and that seemed to be enough for her. She said we were great, fun dogs, though, and would make first-rate additions to any home. If you come sit with me for just five seconds, I’ll squirm into your lap, give you countless soft kisses, and tell you just how important it is that you become mine! I’m a delightful, approximately 1-year-old Schipperke mix, so like all my breed, am going to need a “job” to do to keep my agile brain occupied. Oh, and I’ll also bond with you like epoxy and be your protector forever!

ZOEY is a 6-year-old, female Shepherd/Husky mix who needs a good home. Owner has had her since she was a pup, but he is being reassigned and cannot take Zoey to his new home. She is social with everyone and likes kids ages 1 to 16. She knows “sit” but would prefer belly rubs to going down. Zoey loves attention and to go for long walks. She is spayed, weighs 65 pounds, shots are up to date, and she is in good health. She gets along with other dogs and until recently has had a companion; cats are not recommended. Zoey is housebroken and is allowed in the house, but she prefers to be in the protected yard most of the time. There is no adoption fee for Zoey.

If you would welcome her into a loving home, please call Brian from 8 AM to 8 PM at 520-980-0306.
