Hi… my name is Sunshine,

Adopted 11-29-23

I’m known to people, familiar with me, as a gal with a “sunny” disposition. With that endorsement, what name could possibly be a better fit for a sweet, affectionate, 3-year-old Staffie mix like me! My previous owner said I behave well in the house, ask to go out, and over all I’m a “good dog.” I’m also crate and leash trained, but because I am a strong walker, he decided he could no longer handle me. I know the commands “sit,” “stop,” “down,” and “stay” and enjoy playing with toys, but sharing, not so much. I’d probably do well in a home with older children. I’ve been an only dog, but previously I have enjoyed meeting other dogs in TALGV’s playgroup. Now please, just let the “sunshine” in, and let it be Me!

NOTE: Sunshine has been social, tolerant, and playful when meeting other dogs in TALGV’s playgroup. She would like to meet any resident dogs before adoption to your home.

Hi… my name is Lady Bird (aka Blue),

Adopted 12-5-23

I shared my home with a couple of kids and 19 cats and dogs. It appears I got along well with all of them! With a full house, several of us had to find new homes. After spending a week in a foster home, as an only dog, I discovered… I LIKED it! My foster mom said, like my name, I was calm and a “Lady” in the house. With a small treat, I’ll willingly go into my crate and sleep quietly all night. I ask to go out, sit when told, and walk well on a leash. I’m strong and need a dog savvy person to teach me how to not react when meeting other dogs. I’m affectionate, love to snuggle and moan when content. You too could be content! Want to snuggle?

Hi… my name is Bronson,

When my family dynamics changed, I was not to be included in the “new” family. Me… a great big, adorable lover boy, NOT included? While staying in foster, I made quite a favorable impression. I’m improving my leash skills, but since I’m a big strong boy, I’ll need someone who can match my strength. I ask to go out, and need a yard with a high, secure enclosure. I know how to sit and wait, but an eager eater like me who’s trying to lose “weight” can sometimes find the “wait” trying. I’m crate trained and go there myself for a nap, sleep at night, and stay when left alone. I may be too big to be a lapdog, but let’s compromise. Promise to be my loving, affectionate person, and I’ll try to stay off your lap! Deal? (bio dated 11-30-23)

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.

Hi… my name is Jason,

Adopted 6-17-24

I was originally found wandering around the St. Tomas neighborhood. At TALGV, my microchip unfortunately didn’t supply any of my owner’s information, so I was adopted. I stayed a few days in the lady’s home, and she reported that I’m very loving and calm, and will stay close by my person’s side in the home. I behave in the house, ask to go out, and can use a doggie door. I know the commands “sit,” “stay,” “come,” and “no.” I’m a big, strong, handsome, Lab/Staffie mix boy. Sadly, the lady decided that I’m a lot stronger, for an elderly person, than she thought I was. If you’re a loving, patient person with the strength and willingness to teach me all the basic commands… I’m that strong, affectionate boy who’s ready and willing to be your loving companion!

Hi… my name is Mortar,

Adopted 12-22-23

Loyal. Playful. Happy! Let’s face it, a construction related name like mine doesn’t conjure up warm and fuzzy feelings, at least, not until you meet me! My brother Brick and I were found wandering near some stores, obviously lost. We looked to be in great shape, but our owners weren’t found. We were kind of scared when we first got to The Animal League, but we have quickly learned how to make friends and earn these yummy things called “treats.”   I’m a friendly guy, and the more outgoing one of the two of us. While I might be just a wee bit too rambunctious for young children, older ones are likely okay. Oh! I passed my initial ‘cat test’ (full disclosure: they kind of scared me). So, if you’re looking for a young guy to be part of your loving, active and happy family, I’m ready to report to work…and play!

Hi… my name is Brick,

Adopted 12-2-23

Charming, loveable, attractive.  These are some words you may not think of when you hear the word “Brick.”  Once you meet me in person, you’ll realize those words perfectly capture who I am to a “T” (or is it “B”)? My brother and I were wandering behind some local stores when very kind people found us and kept us safe for the night, until TALGV opened the next day. We were pretty scared at first, but we quickly made both human and doggie friends. While we’re likely related, we don’t have to be adopted together (though how AWESOME would that be!). I’m the more laid-back guy, happy to get belly rubs. I’m also friendly and playful with other dogs, but I’m a little too interested in chasing cats. I’ve met young children and was very well mannered. Let me be part of the foundation of your loving, happy home.

Hi… my name is Tabitha,

Adopted 8-19-23

On a steamy hot summer day, my siblings and I went from being lost to being lucky! We were 4-month-old puppies in need of help when we were found, thank goodness, and brought here. Today, I’m an active, happy puppy who loves company! I have my own collar and harness, and I’m in the process of learning how to go on walks, plus lots of other things good dogs should know. I’m also making friends with some other pups who are slightly bigger than me, but I can keep up! (I met some cats once, too, and they were scary.) If you’d like to add some happy puppy energy to your days and have the time and patience to continue teaching me important puppy lessons, I’d love to be your very own lucky dog.

Hi… my name is Tailz,

What is my best feature: piercing blue eyes, white-as-snow coat, my petite size, oversized ears? All of the above! While I’m shy at first, if you give me time, you’ll find I’m as sweet as pie. But wait, there’s more: I’ve got great house manners, I’m potty-trained, crate trained, quiet as a mouse, and love to go for car and golf-cart rides. So, what’s the downside, you ask? Nothing – as long as you don’t have cats! I’ve become quite the social butterfly with other dogs and am happy to play with them – as long as they have good manners – and respect when it’s time for a break. I’d be best in a house without young kids, as they can overwhelm me. Might I be a good fit for you? Come visit me and find out!

Hi… my name is Glory,

Adopted with Honor 9-10-23

Once upon a time there were three puppies who came to TALGV together, and I was one of them! Volunteers said I was friendly even on that first day, probably because I’d been around people before. But living indoors was new to me and I’m loving it! Oh, I’m an active pup who loves playing outside, but having my own comfy, safe place inside, too, is probably what a forever home feels like. I hope so.  These days, I’m practicing leash-walking and learning what important words like “sit,” “down,” and “wait” mean. I’m also eating well and growing, on my way to being a good-size dog. I’m an affectionate, beautiful black and white Husky/Staffie mix female who’d really like to meet you. Won’t you please come visit?

Hi… my name is Banner,

Adopted 3-10-24

First, let me say I can run, jump, and get dirty like any dog. Indeed, I love going to the play yard to chase balls, jump in a pool in warm weather, and happily engage in rowdy play with a canine pal. But there’s another side to me, too. I know how to be calm and loving, grateful for a person’s attention and affection. Recently some volunteers gave me a bath and described my behavior as perfect, “an amazing gentleman” during the bath, gorgeous and soft afterward. I share my run with another dog and he’s fun company but some of my favorite times are with friendly humans. I’m a handsome Husky/ Staffie mix male with a black coat and white markings, who’d welcome the chance to share playful, tranquil, and contented times with you.
