But if I choose you, in time I’ll warm up and may hop into your lap like we’ve been buddies forever. I’m sweet on my own terms, thank you very much. What I really need is a safe, enclosed yard, a human who respects my space, and someone who doesn’t mistake me for a pushover just because I’m small. Hi… my name is PJ (aka Triumph),

I was adopted as a puppy, then later returned for being “too much puppy.” Could I be anything else BUT a puppy? I think not! Since coming back, I’ve aced my basic manners and leash training from my two- and four-legged friends. I was lucky enough to be in a foster home where I proudly demonstrated I’m house trained, crate trained, and even learning to ring a bell when I need to go out. I know all the commands, take treats gently, and walk like a pro — though I might occasionally zig-zag like a bird dog on patrol. I’m affectionate, calm, playful in bursts, and always keep an eye on my people. Basically, I’m a 5-Star Dog. Want proof? Check out my foster “Report Card” below. Don’t worry about me needing work—I already know how to ask to go outside when I need to, walk like a lady on a leash, and ride well in the car. I love to be loved, but I’m not a needy girl, and I’m happy sleeping on my bed next to yours. (I mean, if you’ll share the couch, I’ll probably enjoy that, too, and my compact size means I won’t take up much room.)
