Wow, I’ve had a tough time. I was hit by a car (probably) which left me with broken bones and torn tendons in my legs. I was out on my own, so it didn’t heal right and I’m left with a limp. I also became malnourished. A nice lady found me and thankfully was able to overcome my skittishness to bring me to The Animal League. Lucky for me, because they gave me medical care and food—and affection. I like brushing and petting. Maybe because of my legs, I spend lots of time lying down, and I’m mellow. I have a beautiful striped grey coat with white and handsome green eyes.

For the last four years I lived with a nice man. A couple of years ago we brought a kitten into the home, Josette. There was also a dog. I became like a mother to Josette and we really clicked. Unfortunately dad got sick. I stayed close to his side until he passed away. Now Josette and I are looking for another good home. I like to hang out on a high perch but will readily come down for attention. I like petting and brushing and will rub against you. You can pick me up and I like laps. I’m a beautiful girl, mostly black with a splotch of white. Come by and meet us!

My first home was with a nice man. I was just a kitten and Sasha, my roommate, became like a mother to me. There was also a dog. Unfortunately, dad got sick, and I was like his guard cat. I tried to comfort him by putting my head in his hand. He passed away, so now Sasha and I are looking for another good home. I like to hang out on a high perch and am not too comfortable with strangers. However, I think the right human could win me over as long as I have Sasha beside me. I started life as a stray, but for the last year I lived with my best friend, Supercali. There were also young children and dogs in the home. Something wasn’t to my liking, and I began misbehaving. However, my owner said I was super sweet and love to play and be petted. I’ve been hanging out on the floor underneath a cat tree, but I come right out to rub your legs. I will jump in your lap and put my paws on your chest! I would love to find a quiet home with you and return the affection I get. Why not come meet me and see for yourself?

CARMELITA is a friendly and well-behaved 18-month-old, 35-pound, Hound/Terrier mix female who needs a new home. Adopter found her but does not have room to keep her. She walks well on leash and is crate trained. She is in good health, spayed, up to date on shots and medical records are available. She sits to be petted, asks to go out, and likes playing with her toys. Carmelita is good with other dogs and cats; children are unknown.
