Animal League News

Hi… my name is Arty,

Adopted 1-6-24

I was a Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) pooch that had been repeatedly overlooked by potential adopters. Why? Oh, it’s not because I’m not special—I AM! It’s just that PACC had more than 400 other furry choices. Lucky for me, some astute Animal League volunteers saw my sparkling personality and they picked ME to come here where I could shine. And shine I do! My TALGV friends say I’m a “great dog” who knows how to “sit,” “stay,” “heel,” and “come.” I also know the “watch me” command and walk well on a leash. My hobbies include the outdoors—especially hiking—and I like playing with dog friends and people friends. ALL PEOPLE! And once I warm up to you, watch out, because this mellow fellow becomes a kissy-faced dreamboat. Can I be YOUR pick?

Hi… my name is Finn,

Adopted 7-29-23

I was found with just a rope collar and looking like “skin and bones.” But look at me now! You can tell that I’m loving the regular food, and, even more, the human company. Recently I spent a few days in a home and thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and calm environment. My friends there said I was gentle, sensitive, and funny. Although I didn’t like being alone, I didn’t chew or damage anything. They said I preferred being inside, and even watched TV! But the best part was sharing my days with people—taking easy walks, riding in the car, sitting outside together, and cuddling on the couch. I’m a 4-1/2-year-old Boxer/Staffie mix who’s been hungry, scared, and lonely, but now I know how good life can be. Could my best days be with you?

Hi… my name is Ruby Dee,

Adopted 5-1-23

I was recently in foster care rehab following leg surgery. I’ve been encouraged to use my leg, which is more likely when I’m distracted, by walking and playing as much as possible. No problem! Occasionally I need to be reminded to walk on all four paws by saying “no knuckle.” I love being outside watching birds and chasing anything else that flies. I really enjoy tracking ants to see where they’re going. While in foster care I got along with the resident dog and one of the two cats. My leash walking may need work, but I’m potty trained (scratch at the door), crate trained, and good when left alone. I also know some basic commands. With these qualifications, and my loving personality, you must certainly realize that we belong together!

Hi… my name is Tulip,

Adopted 3-13-23

I am “bright-eyed and bushy tailed”—no, make that “bright-eyed and striped tail!” I have lovely markings. I’m a petite young lady who is curious and alert about all that goes on around me. You may find me perched in a cat condo watching birds outside the catio. I love to be petted. I’m just getting used to volunteers brushing my sleek fur coat. Found in the trailer park south of Duval Road in Green Valley, I was more than happy to come to The Animal League. Here I have food, water, and a comfy bed provided. What’s missing is YOU, my own human(s) to adore. Please come meet me!

Hi… my name is MacNab,

Adopted with MacIntosh 5-26-23

What a beginning to life! My mama was found near Nogales, Arizona, and taken to a kind lady’s home. During the night mama gave birth to me and my siblings. The kind rescuer brought us all to The Animal League where we all were well-cared for. Our mama has been adopted, and now my brother MacIntosh and I are waiting for our very own home. We are a bonded pair who play, eat, and sleep together—the best of friends who have weathered several storms of illness. We need to stay together! Although we have special medical needs, we are ready to delight our own human(s). Will you please be that special someone to love us?
