Hi… my name is Polar,

Adopted 2-11-24

People tell me I’m a remarkably handsome shepherd, commenting especially on my beautiful white and beige coat and deep brown eyes. That’s nice, of course, but even better is when they see me as a friend—someone to have fun with. I share my run with another dog and every day we run and play together, sit in the sun together, and tolerate each other’s quirks, like when I occasionally use a high-pitched voice to say “no thanks” to a walk. Fun with human friends includes playing fetch, sharing quiet times, or working a canine puzzle and they tell me how smart I am! Of course, I’ll meet my best friend when someone takes me home and we love each other forever. Please come visit and see if we could be that happy match!  (bio updated 12-28-23)

Hi… my name is Elixir,

Adopted 1-26-23

Just how much love can one cat have? Well, come meet me and find out. I embody love. When you talk and pet me, I will curl up almost into a pretzel to soak in your attention. I’m the cutest little girl with silky black fur. I like to sit on top of the cat tree so I can greet you. My history is a mystery. My rescuer found me and my feline companion across the street from her house. I was most happy to come to her. She brought me here where I’m being well-cared for, but I DO desire my own home where I promise “to love you to pieces!” Could that be yourhome?

Hi… my name is Major,

Adopted 2-24-23

You already know that my name, for certain humans, is a title that deserves a salute. I don’t expect anyone to salute me, but in my imagination, people look like they may want to. Don’t worry, a friendly smile will do the job! I have probably had some basic education in the past because I’m polite and well-behaved. I’ve already demonstrated how well I sit (when told), walk on a leash and use the doggy door. I’m an approximately 2-year-old German Shepherd, and since I’m a big boy (87 lbs.), I’ll probably need a strong handler. I admit I’m a  softy who’ll sit and casually lean into you to get affection and use my paw to hug your leg. Sound good to you? Then let’s go home and start our lives together!

Hi… my name is Prestige,

Adopted 2-18-23

My name denotes admiration for certain qualities. As a stray, I appreciate being so named. Would you like to know my qualities? I’m a handsome, sturdy, gentle guy. I was found in a garage sleeping in a baby carriage by the woman who brought me to The Animal League. I checked out A-OK here and am finding my own kind of  creature comfort in cat tree cubbies. I’m learning the kindness of TALGV volunteers who talk with me and pet me. This is better than life on my own. However, even better would be for you to take me home with you! I’m waiting to meet you.

Hi… my name is Love Potion,

Adopted 2-11-23

When you hear my name, do you sing the song “Love Potion No. 9?” Some of The Animal League volunteers are. My history is somewhat of a mystery. What IS known is that I’m a handsome, sleek black feline with distinctive white whiskers. I am “personality-plus.” You may become infatuated with my “talking” and my magical friendliness. My feline companion and I were brought to The Animal League by a woman who saw us near her house. We were most grateful to go to her. My greatest wish is to have a home of my own. Please come meet me to see if you and I could become best friends!

Hi… my name is Lila,

Adopted 1-18-24

My foster home was just what I needed! It didn’t take long for me to feel at home and comfortable around the family. I was always ready to greet them on their return home! Almost immediately, the resident dog and I became friends and had fun playing together. I quickly learned my way around the house, which made me feel more secure and relaxed. At The Animal League, for my outside breaks, and the use of the potty, I use the doggie door. I may not like thunder, but being close to someone helps alleviate any anxiety I may have. One might think that since I’m blind, due to glaucoma, I couldn’t be happy. They’d be wrong! Why don’t you come over and meet me, and find out all about me. To me, happiness is good food, a soft bed, and your family to share my love!

Hi… my name is Roxanne,

COMES WITH VET CARE SUPPORT FOR LIFE

Shortly after I was rescued and taken to TALGV, I moved into a foster home. I know basic commands, and let you know when I need to go out to potty; routine helps. I even found my own personal spot in the backyard for that purpose! I sleep all night on my own bed, enjoy sitting on the couch, don’t play with toys, and love going for car rides and walks. I walk well on a leash but react, by pulling very hard, when meeting “small” dogs. I need a strong walker and probably a home without any “small” pets. It’s important to note that I come with Vet Care Support for Life. I’m a sweet, well-behaved girl who’s  patiently waiting for you to take me home. Did I say patiently? Please hurry!
