Floof

Hi… my name is Floof,

“Exceptionally furry animal” is the meaning of my name, Floof. I come when called by my name! I love being groomed to keep my furry coat soft and mat-free. For a short time I lived in a home with two adults, a teenager, a dog and a cat. My humans said that I was tolerant of children, but I was leery of the black Lab. The 12-year-old male cat constantly antagonized me. So here I am. They said I loved people and would greet them at the door. I love to cuddle on your lap and purr. Won’t you come meet me? Your home might be just for me if I’m your one-and-only pet.

You could say that I am of unusual parentage, with one being a lab and the other a little doxie. But if you ask me, that only makes me the perfect size dog! I am perfect in other ways, too: I walk well on a leash, behave when left alone at home, alert you to strangers and when I need to go potty. My previous person said that I don’t get along with some dogs or kids. But you don’t like just anybody either, do you? How about we meet at the shelter and find out how we like each other? (If you give good belly rubs, we’ll be halfway there already!) If we do, we can go home together and I can keep you company, sit next to you, and snuggle.

NOTE: Conner has been social, tolerant, and playful when meeting other dogs in TALGV’s playgroup. He would like to meet any resident dogs before adoption to your home.

Maybe someone was being cute when they named me Little Kitty (I was 14 pounds when I arrived), but I’ve learned that humans have a weird sense of humor sometimes! I’ve had a couple of moms who both had to relinquish me for health reasons. I’m a reserved lady who’d love a quiet home where I’m the only pet. I’ve been praised as very loving, but want to give you affection on my schedule. I’m shy and am still warming up to attention from the volunteers. I LOVE treats. I’ve passed the age milestone for Vet Care Support for Life, so I’m hopeful that gives you another reason to make me yours!

My life has had its “ups” and “downs.” The Animal League is certainly one of the “ups.” When my humans moved out of state and couldn’t take me with them, they brought me here. And how well I was cared for! I’m still receiving special attention by volunteers, but I’m longing for my own home, a warm lap, and a new friend. Could that be you? I am best being an only pet, although I lived with another cat before. I’m not fond of dogs or children. I am very sweet and lovable with adults. The perfect home for me would be a quiet home with someone who wants to dote on me. Could that be with you?

I waltzed into this lady’s yard. She checked with neighbors, but no one recognized me. Really? I’m such a handsome boy with clear blue eyes and soft white fur? It’s hard to believe, but it’s true. So, she brought me to TALGV. I’m a feisty cat who might like to be brushed—which I need—if I let YOU handle the brush. By substituting chew toys, volunteers are able to brush me for a short time. Fortunately, I regularly groom myself. I really like wand toys and balls, too. Although not much is known about my past, I’m betting I would be just great in your home. If a handsome, playful cat is what you’re looking for, I’m your guy!

A nice person found me in the backyard, and I walked right into the crate to come to The Animal League. I guess I was done with fending for myself outside! I’m a little shy and right now I prefer to stay in my cubby. I am getting used to being petted and brushed by the volunteers, but so far I’m not comfortable playing. I’m jet black with glowing yellow eyes. Comfortably into my middle age, I’m ready for some easy living! Can you relate to that? How about some down time together in front of the TV? I think a quiet home will help me feel secure, and I’ll reward you with my companionship.
