SALEM is a mellow and playful 3-year-old, 60-pound, Staffie mix girl who needs a new home.She is in good health, spayed and up to date on shots. She is house broken and asks to go out. Salem is well behaved and obedience trained; she will sit, go, stay, shake, and come to her name. She is playful and energetic. She is very good with children and gets along well with other dogs; cats are unknown. Salem will happily stay in her crate whenever needed and she sleeps there at night. There is no adoption fee. Sometimes you want just one person to love. My first mom and I came from Germany, but her health declined and she moved in with relatives to care for her. I soon found a new home, but when I began stalking the resident cat and pouncing on my new mom’s feet at night, she decided to rehome me. I went to live with a couple, but much preferred my new dad. After he died, I never warmed up to his wife and two “I want attention” nips sealed my fate. I do love being brushed (for a while!) and enjoy playing with toys, so if I promise to be the good, affectionate boy I used to be, will you make me yours?

My young life has been okay so far, but mom had to move to a place that didn’t allow pets so here I am. Mom says I’m “the sweetest cat ever” and I’d like to prove it to you! I’m okay with dogs and love string toys. I’m as curious as they come and am especially curious about OUTSIDE, so I need a home where I can be protected from open doors. I was found in front of this kind lady’s home, and since she couldn’t keep me, she brought me here. It was discovered that I was in the “family way” so I was fostered until my kittens and I would be ready for homes. Now we are! I am a Treeing Walker Coonhound, and although no longer a puppy, I still have lots of energy to run and chase. I am currently staying with foster parents who have a nice, big yard and another dog with whom I get along well. But they say that I can’t stay because I’m not at all fond of their cats and look at them as prey. (Sigh.) I am well behaved on a leash, but I am a strong girl and need a strong person to walk with me. I love being with all kinds of people, and I love learning new things. I already know the “sit,” “down” and “stay” commands. My favorite place is next to my human,giving and receiving affection. Will you be my very own human?
