Hi… my name is  Meadow,

Adopted 2-5-21

Somehow I got lost late last year, but a kind soul brought me to TALGV. I was sick for a bit, but they took such good care of me that now I cannot wait to meet my new person or family! I am a large boxer mix who has had some basic training and I remember quite a few commands. But it’s been a while and it would be nice to have a special someone again who can help me refresh my memory. I like outings and long walks and I like to play, too. When you sit near me, I also like to cuddle and show affection and, in return for some chin scratches or belly rubs, I will even give you kisses. Why don’t you make an appointment so we can meet?

Hi… my name is Zoey,

Transferred to Pug Rescue Group with Purdita 1-26-21

Purdita and I are littermates and have always been together. She is blind and I guess you can call me her seeing-eye dog. We like to play together—and with our people!—and I help her find her way around. When our mom could no longer keep us, she said to make sure to tell you that we’ve gotten along with children of all ages and that we seem to love everyone. Both of us are cuddle-bugs–but then, what else would you expect from a couple of Pugs? We know commands like “come,” “sit,” and “stay,” but we never quite mastered how to tell you when we need to go outside. We are kennel-trained, though (and won’t go in there!) and as long as we get to go outside regularly, we’re okay.

Hi… my name is Panther,

Adopted 2-20-21

When I arrived at TALGV, I was fearful of everything. With time and patience, I gradually came out of my shell. Now I feel more comfortable and trusting. When I go for walks, I’m a different girl. I walk extremely well. I’m a shadow, alert and attentive to my walker. I get in and out of cars with ease and I’m not fearful while riding. My trainer said I was curious, but not reactive to other people and dogs. I have recently been in foster and I’m doing well with my crate training and ask to go out. I know a few commands like “sit” and “off.” I’m an affectionate “love bug,” and if you’re willing to give me the love, time and patience I need to adjust to YOU, I’ll love YOU forever!

Hi… my name is Chandler,

Adopted 1-20-21

I was found roaming around with a companion and we were both brought to TALGV. I admit I’m a little bashful at first and meeting new people makes me nervous, but once we meet, we’re no longer strangers. I’m a 1 ½ -year-old Dachshund/Lab mix boy. I look forward to my walks and enjoy visits from the volunteers. It seems that I like the attention I get and it boosts my confidence. A soft voice and a gentle scratch under my chin   feels good and I’ll let you know when I want more. You’d think with a big, important name like Chandler I’d be ready to take on the world. Who know, maybe I am! I’m small, but deep inside I know I have a big heart that I’d love to share with you.

Hi… my name is Arthur,

Adopted 11-5-21

Comes with Vet Care Support for Life

Why is it that big guys like me almost always want to be lap cats? Well, at the moment, you might not believe it because I’m overwhelmed by everything that’s happened, so I’m keeping a low profile. But if you’d like to sit next to me in a chair by my cubby, I’ll let you scratch my ears and chin all day! My dad moved and couldn’t take me with him (that’s apparent, I guess), but he confirmed that although shy, I love laps, never scratch furniture, am okay with other cats, but afraid of dogs. At 14, I have Vet Care Support for Life, so why not make YOUR lap my next stop?

Hi… my name is Scottie,

Adopted 1-23-21

I’m adorable. Don’t you think so? It’s what they tell me, anyway. I love to play with toys and chase them, but if I can sit on your lap and get scratched, I’ll be just as happy to cuddle and give you kisses in return. There are a few things I need help figuring out yet, such as how to make you humans understand that I need to go potty, for example. But I do okay walking on leash alongside my person and, as they say, I’m highly trainable, especially if there are treats involved! I really like people and I like other dogs, too. But while I get along fine with them, I can be a bit bossy and not all of them like that. Can I be your adorable Scottie?

Hi… my name is Autumn,

Adopted 1-17-21

“Loving and cuddly in her space; playful with feathers on string; loves doggie friend, windows, and sitting with people.” So what more could you possibly want? Life was a dream for me and one of my other feline housemates, but the oldest (a real prima donna!) decided that she wanted to rule the roost and started picking on us, so goodbye happy life and hello TALGV (personally, I’d have found HER a new home, but I didn’t have any say in it!). My friend has found a new home already, and I’m just as pretty (and sweeter!) than she was, so how about me? All I want is for us to make each other happy!
