Dogs and cats and toddlers — oh, my! That’s the home my sister, Nora, and I came from, so you know we’re pretty used to lots of activity. Turns out our mom had just too many pets to care for, so we were the two chosen to move on and brighten someone else’s life. Mom said, “Rory likes feather toys and laser lights, is very chill and laid back [actually, “lazy” is the word she used!], likes attention but isn’t a snuggler, is healthy (although he needs to lose weight because he eats anything!), and likes belly rubs from trusted people.” Hey, if I were adopting a cat, I’d pick me – I hope you will, too!

I am a petite Schipperke lady with soft, black fur. The breed is also known as Spitz, meaning “pointy,” and it describes my muzzle perfectly! But I want you to know that I am not sticking my tongue out at you; it just usually hangs out one side of my mouth, more like a signature look! I came here with my pal Jimmy because our Mom got sick. If you come to visit us, I will probably greet you at the door while Jimmy is a bit less outgoing and usually hangs back in the crate. At our ages, we won’t need much: love, some food, a bit of care. I am a small Lhasa Apso who recently came to live at TALGV with my pal Bella because our Mom got really sick. Mom said I was good at home, asked to go out when I needed to, and I am also crate trained. I actually feel safer in my crate, at least at the moment, so when you come to visit us, Bella will probably greet you at the door and I will hang back here to see what you’re all about. Can you give me some time to get to know you? At my age, I won’t need much: some love, some food, some care. Both of us come with vet care support for life and if possible, we’d like to stay together.

I am an eight-pound Chihuahua with a beautiful chocolate and white coat and big ears! Someone said I should be able to listen well with those huge lobes of mine, and, don’t get me wrong, I hear just fine, but I do have a mind of own, you know? Like many of my breed, I can be sweet and loving and I do enjoy sitting on a lap for a spell. At other times, I just want to be left alone. Kids make me a bit nervous, and so do thunderstorms. But I like car rides and going on walks. I’ve learned stop, sit, and stay, and I can learn more. Although I’m only two years old, I’ve been around a bit and would like to meet someone who can be patient with me.

Life’s sometimes a fairy tale and then all of a sudden it isn’t. I lost my first mom and it was a while before another special someone adopted me. I was “living the dream” again, when my new mom died too, so I came back to TALGV. I’m almost 12 years old (with Vet Care Support for Life), and I’m still the lover I’ve always been – just a lot more laid back. I crave attention (and crunchy treats, even though I’ve only got two teeth!), so I’m dreaming of someone who’ll show me that life can be the joy it was before.
