Hi… my name is Nova,

Adopted 6-13-21

I’m a young Heeler mix and new mom to six adorable, healthy pups. They’ve reached the age where they’re starting to leave the litter and move into their forever homes. Soon I’ll be an “empty nester” and ready to experience a new life and home of my own. After I was found under a shed giving birth to my puppies, we were rescued and brought to TALGV. I’m a gentle girl and I enjoy affection whenever I can get it. Since my history is a mystery, you can imagine how much all this attention means to me. I can definitely get used to it! I can use a doggie door and I’ve been practicing walking on leash. Remember, I’m still somewhat a pup myself and I need what my puppies need, lots of love!

Hi… my name is Luna,

Adopted 6-6-21

I’m a gentle, tolerant girl who loves to run, play catch, and cuddle. Even though previous experience has left me somewhat between timid and shy, you can still see that sweet, loving dog I’ve always been. I do accept but don’t readily return affection. It takes a little more time and patience to earn my trust. Like they say, “slow and easy does it.” Once trust is established, you’ll be rewarded with my engaging and sweet personality. I nimbly jump into and out of cars; I’m the perfect passenger (I don’t try to drive). On a leash, I pay attention to what my handler expects of me. I’m curious about other dogs, but I don’t engage. I do have an ongoing medical condition, but with my special kibble and your special love, life can be good. How about sharing that good life with me!

Hi… my name is Joan,

Adopted 5-14-23

Remember the Charlie Brown song lyric “why’s everybody always picking on me?” That’s what I’ve been wondering because although I’m a totally sweet girl, one of the five other cats I lived with was making my life miserable. Truth be told, I was shy with the others, so being your one and only would “make my day.” My human dad said I’m very playful and loving but a nipper at times. That being said, a kind woman adopted me and loved me. However, when I got over-stimulated, I would bite. Not an admirable trait. So if you’re willing to give me another chance as your only pet, maybe we could change that habit.

Hi… my name is Pepsi,

Adopted 6-10-21

I’m a spirited 1-year-old female, Shepherd mix, recently returned to TALGV. Due to long working hours, my family realized they couldn’t give me the time I deserve. I’m very energetic, since I’m still very young, and I enjoy playing fetch, running, jumping, and swimming. I know the command “sit” and ask to go out. I’m leash trained, but on walks I tend to react to other dogs. I do well as a family member because I love people, and I’ve been good with toddlers. Learning some basic commands will help me focus and settle down. I’m a very affectionate girl, and if you believe I would be a welcome addition to your family, please make an appointment for us to get together. All I need is a family with time, patience, and of course….love!

PS My baby photos are shown at the end of the gallery.

Hi… my name is Darla,

Adopted 9-9-21

If you don’t already have a roommate, but you’re open to the possibility of one in the form of the canine persuasion, we should meet! I’m a 5-year-old female Chihuahua/mix and I’m looking for that special person who would like to share their life with me. I found out in my previous home that I might prefer being an only dog. It may take a little extra patience and time, but I believe in my heart that once we connect the results will be worth it. My own loving, human companion who can bring out the best in me is my own personal goal. If you’re interested and I sound like a gal you would like to meet, please call for an appointment. You could be the one!

Hi… my name is Shelly,

Adopted 7-31-21

When you’ve spent all your five years with just one older person, you get pretty used to a quiet life. So you can imagine how it distressing it is to be in a new place where there’s so much “people action” going on and other cats not making you feel welcome. After my mom passed away, a friend took me in for a while, but her other cats weren’t friendly to a newcomer either, so my quest for a new person has begun. Once I come out of my shell, I’m an awfully sweet lady who likes cat trees, soft blankets, and your attention. A new life with those sounds like heaven to me!
