Bentley is an active and social 2-year-old, 60-pound Shepherd mix male who needs a new home. He is crate trained, leash trained, and obedience trained (sit, down, shake). He is housebroken and asks to go out. He is in good health, neutered, up to date on shots, and medical records are available. Bentley gets along with other dogs and older children; cats are unknown. He loves balls and would be a great running partner. There is no adoption fee for this sweet boy. “She walked up to my house and wanted to come in. We kept her for a day, but have allergies so couldn’t keep her. She’s well-behaved, friendly, and a truly wonderful kitty – someone has lost a lovely lady.” And that’s that! Well, I was adopted shortly after arriving, but the lady said she was “too old” for me and I was “too young” for her, so I might need a younger family with kids and maybe other pets to share my energy with. And there you have it! I also would add that I have delightfully soft rabbit-like fur, am a petite thing, and just know that I’ll be the perfect fit for you!

I suppose lots of people think all cats dream about chasing birds and butterflies in the great outdoors. Well, when you’re a new mom, have four very hungry babies to care for, and no one to care for you, it’s not all that much fun from this end, I’m telling you! Thankfully, a kind lady took pity on us, called TALGV, and we ended up here. I’m so thankful for the food and care that I’ve been getting, and although I’m still pretty shy and dealing with “battle fatigue,” with just a bit of encouragement, I warm up quickly. Life is such a joy when you share it with someone, and that’s the way mine was for 15 years until dad died. Everyone would like to outlive their pets (despite the heartbreak of losing them), but that doesn’t always happen, and sometimes those of us left behind have to start new lives. People who knew me said that I’d once lived with another cat and was a very sweet, gentle lady who liked to sleep by my dad or on his lap. I was brought to TALGV after I was found under a trailer. When I arrived, everyone knew they were in the company of an exuberant boy who is still a pup at heart. After working with my trainer, I’m settling down and gradually learning some new lessons. I’m quite proud that I know the meaning of sit and wait. I can use the doggie door and I’m possibly housetrained. I’m pretty good on walks but need more work on leash training. I’m sweet and very affectionate and I love to play.
