I’m a 2-year-old Mastiff mix (possibly part Kai Ken), with a beautiful brindle coat. Since I’m large and lovable, and I enjoy ear rubs and kisses, my foster family has nicknamed me “Teddy Bear.” My foster dad said I’m house trained and the perfect houseguest. I walk well on a leash and I’m always eager to go for a stroll but I’m not thrilled about car rides or confined spaces. We’re working on that! I’m an intelligent and independent boy who can be little stubborn. I’m a true Australian cattle dog; in other words, I’m NOT a couch potato. I need tasks and activities to keep me occupied. I’m good on a leash and would really appreciate someone who’s active and possibly likes to hike. I also enjoy playing and absolutely love car rides. I appear to be housetrained and I use a doggie door, and I know how to sit when told. It may take a while to build trust with me, but when you do I will be affectionate, attentive and willing to learn new lessons. It’s tough being a youngster living on the streets, ‘cause in addition to having to forage for food, you’ve got to be wary of all the things that can “get” you (also, you don’t a have chance to spend quality time with humans, but I’m hoping to make up for that in a big way once I’m comfortable). So far, I don’t love being with other cats and can be snippy with them, but I’m doing my darndest to do better.
