Hi… my name is Mouse,

Adopted 2-20-21

When you see my face, you’ll understand how I got my name ‘cause it sure isn’t because I’m “mousy”! I come from a long line of “rescued from the boonies” cats and although my life with my rescuer was okay, there was a limit to how many of us she could accommodate, so here I am and happily, I can be yours! Here’s her summary of me: “Mouse is a sweet girl who can be shy initially but likes people. She’ll play by herself, with other cats, dogs, or with you and she loves feathers. Once she knows you, she’ll follow you and (preferably) rest on your chest.” Hey, what more could you want?

Hi… my name is Blue,

Adopted 9-3-21

So much for the great outdoors! That’s where I was living when an animal-loving lady rescued me, and I quickly joined her menagerie of cats and dogs.  I was initially shy but found my niche sleeping by her feet in bed at night, cuddling next to her legs by the sofa, and playing with string toys. Since arriving here though, I’ve been keeping a VERY low profile and haven’t been presenting myself in the best light, but I’m betting anything that in my own home with my own person and no (or not much!) competition, my personality will shine as much as my beautiful coat. I’d be so grateful if you’d give me that chance!

Hi… my name is Starlight,

Adopted 2-24-21

What’s in a name? Star light, star bright, first star…. well, you know the rest. My name may be the start of a poem, but I’m wishing for a new start in my life. I was found roaming on a desert road on the outskirts of town. I’m an adorable, 1-year-old Dachshund mix female and I’m just the right size to be the perfect fit for anyone’s home, maybe yours! If you’ll come to meet me, I think you’ll find out that I’m very sociable and loving. I can be very playful and yet I can also enjoy a quiet cuddle. I know how to use the doggie door and enjoy going for walks and spending time with different people. When you adopt me… I’ll get the wish I wish tonight.

Hi… my name is Walnut,

Adopted with Nutcracker 9-3-21

I am a medium sized chow mix who arrived at TALGV with Nutcracker. They think I may be his dad, but I’m not telling! My son – oops, I mean: my friend! – is a lot gutsier than I am and I usually take my cues from him. I need a bit more time before I let people pet me and usually wait until Nutcracker has checked them out and found them to be okay. (Although, I must say, he is pretty easy to please!) I don’t like walking on a leash much, but I’m okay with it if we all walk together. If you are patient with me, I promise that I can learn to do better. I get along with other large dogs and I do like people once I know I can trust them.

Hi… my name is Nutcracker,

Adopted with Walnut 9-3-21

I arrived at TALGV with Walnut who they think may be my dad, but he has sworn me to secrecy! I really like being petted and talked to and I am quite affectionate. I also take care of Walnut because he is kinda shy and usually waits for me to check things (and people) out before he trusts anyone. They say I need to learn to walk better on a leash because I stop a lot without much warning to the person walking me. For some reason people don’t like that. Maybe you can help me understand and do better? Like Walnut, I do get along well with other large dogs. I would like to find a home – and a person to cuddle with – but Walnut will need to come, too.

Hi… my name is Dulce,

Adopted 3-21-21

You know how they say that looks can be deceiving? Well, I am a strong, muscular bulldog and boxer mix girl who may look like a prize fighter but is actually more like a gentle giant and even a bit shy. That is why they named me Dulce, which is Spanish for sweet. Just look at my soulful eyes, and you’ll understand! I like car rides and going places, and I do like to run some times. I get along pretty well with other dogs, too. They say I walk nicely on a leash and don’t pull, and that I’m a sucker for ear scratches and belly rubs. I’m really just a couch potato whose favorite place is next to her favorite someone. Now I just have to find that special someone. Is that you?

Hi… my name is Panda,

Adopted 2-14-21

You’ll be able to picture the condition of my coat when I arrived when you learn that I’d been cruising the parking lot of an apartment complex for several weeks, as they sure aren’t the cleanest of places for a mostly white cat! Grey, greasy, and grimy pretty much describes it, but when the volunteers here have finished all their ministrations, whoa baby, I’m gonna be a looker (and a lover too – you can tell right away when I flop over for a good “going over”)! I’m a petite 1-year-old girl who is reveling in the attention I’m getting and ever so looking forward to continuing that custom in a nice safe home with you!

Hi… my name is Perdita,

Adopted 8-3-21

Comes with Vet Care Support for Life

Hello, I’m a beautiful, brindle, 10-year-old Staffie mix gal who comes with a lot of love and Vet Care Support for Life. I have plenty of energy, and I don’t let a little grey on my muzzle slow me down. I’m very good on a leash and enjoy going for walks. I’m crate trained, can use a doggie door or ask to go out, and I sit when requested. I love people, back scratches, treats and playing with balls. My foster parents noticed my big smile and cute ears. They said I settled in and quickly made myself right at home. Perdita means “lost” and that’s how I feel without a home. Please come and find me! All you have to do is come to TALGV. I’m waiting!

If you are considering adoption, please call TALGV office (520-625-3170) and make a date to meet me soon. Kennel appointments are between 10 and 2 every day.
