My former owner had to work long hours, thus she couldn’t give me attention I need. I really don’t like being left alone for long periods of time and since I’m still a puppy, I tend to get into a lot of mischief. She said I’m a great companion and quite protective. I’m gentle and tolerant with children but apprehensive with other animals. I’m especially calm around children with disabilities. I know how to use the doggie door and ask to go out. I have little experience on a leash and I only know limited commands. I need basic behavior training and less time alone, to become the perfect boy for any home. I have never been as afraid as I was on that deserted road, with not a single soul in sight. When a car stopped, a lady got out and picked me up, it was then I knew my life was going to change for the better. She kept me for two days then brought me to TALGV where I met many other people who made me feel right at home. I’m a female Chihuahua mix, approximately 5 years old. I can’t explain my life before, or how I came to be in the middle of nowhere, but I can tell you that I really need some love and security in my life. I was adopted from TALGV when I was a small puppy and now, because of changes in the family, I’ve been returned. I’m leash trained, friendly, playful and energetic, plus I know how to sit, lie down, spin, and shake. I’m crate and potty trained and ask to go outside. I’m only a year old, still a puppy, so I need more basic behavior training. My former owner said I’m a good listener and I learn fast. The people here are all loving and supportive. I get to go out for daily walks and come back to a clean room (I love room service). What I really want is a new “forever” home with a family I can share my life and love with. When my owner moved, she couldn’t find a place that would allow dogs. Now I’m at a TALGV foster home, waiting for someone new to discover me…a male, 1-year-old Shepherd mix. Even though I mostly lived outside with two other dogs, I know to wait until invited to get on house furniture or go into the kitchen. In my former home there were children and cats. I know basic commands, walk well on leash, and it appears that I’m housebroken. My foster family has plans to expand on my education.
