Hi… my name is Joanie,

Adopted with Richie 8-16-19

Today, I’m a gentle, extraordinary dog—best friends with Richie, one of the sweetest canines ever—with a story to share. Back in 2017, a wonderful man, who knew my life had been hard, gave me extra attention. Over time, he’d done this for 45 dogs (!), and said I became one of the best dogs they’d ever had—“quiet, mellow, well behaved, and very social with other dogs.” But when they returned to Minnesota, I was adopted to someone else. What happened next is uncertain, but somehow Richie and I ended up as hungry strays, lucky to be here today. My friends say I now deserve my happily-ever-after, and I say Richie does, too. So if your heart guides you to us, I promise we’ll gladly bring our grateful love to your life forever.

Hi… my name is Sasha (aka Charcoal),

Adopted 5-8-19

It’s not always true that “big is better,” but in my case, yeah, it is! I’m a Russian Blue gentleman who was happily living with my mom until a parent came to live with us and for some unfathomable reason (to me!), we didn’t get along. So here I am, all 22 pounds of me, hoping there’s a “big guy” loving person out there looking for the same kind of friendship I am! Mom said I ADORED being cuddled and sleeping with her, and followed her around from room to room (although I could be a door-dasher, so be careful there!), so come meet me and we’ll talk about how great our lives together can be!

Hi… my name is Jessica,

Adopted with Samantha 5-19-19

The story of how we came to be here is a bit convoluted—we were in a park, going this way then that, there was someone’s daughter—but two things are for sure: First, I came with Samantha, another Pug mix female, and we’re very happy together. The other sure thing, according to our new people friends, is that we’re two little dogs with great big hearts. Calm and sweet, we’re naturally friendly. (Samantha may be slightly braver than me; she’s a little bigger and one year older.) Some people think our Pug-like expressions are kind of comical, but we know you’re laughing with us, so it’s all good. If we make you happy just by being ourselves, that’s perfect for us, too. So how about we get together and give it a try!

Hi… my name is Annie (aka Ebbie),

Adopted 5-1-19

It’s true – you’re never too old to learn new tricks. People might think that leash training is just for dogs; but I’m here to refute that! The volunteers thought I could do with a bit of extra exercise, so I’m spending some time walking the halls, checking everything out, and (pretty much) loving it! My older mom couldn’t care for me any longer, so now I’m yours for the taking. I’m a totally delightful, inquisitive, declawed 9-year-old Maine Coon, who’s lived with (but pretty much ignored) another cat and dog. I love being held, giving kisses, and am very inquisitive, so if your life is lacking that “certain something,” I know exactly what it is!

Hi… my name is Blue Bayou,

Adopted by foster 2-15-20

When you look in my blue eyes, I hope you see a future friend, even if you see some leftover wariness at first. You see, in my past—well, suffice to say that not all homes are happy and sometimes kindness is hard to find. But today I know the joy of being rescued! Oh, I’m still shy, but after just a few days, I started learning that it’s okay to let someone care about me and to care about them in return. Other dogs relax and have fun, and I’m learning to do that, too! I’m a chocolate brown Chesapeake Bay Retriever male, born in 2014, and someday I’ll be happy at home forever. And maybe the one who gives me that home—the one I’ll love beyond measure—will be you!

Hi… my name is Sunshine,

Adopted 4-28-19

Note: Bio needs revision

Huskies are known for being friendly and that’s my forte. I wear my heart on my sleeve because I want you to know that I have more than enough affection to go around! When rescued from the street, I carried evidence of tough times in the past—my right ear has healed but you can see where it was torn, and one of my nails had been injured, too. But whatever happened, it didn’t stop me from loving people. And when you love me back, I’m the happiest dog around. I’m a very sweet Husky mix female, a slender 55 pounds, and I speak Husky—almost a soprano sound, and have those beautiful blue eyes that seem to say, “I’ll build my world around you.” And I will—as soon as I’m yours!
